If so, I more inclined to think it will be only on the Limited.

I hope it's a vertical sliding glass like the Tundra and 4runner.

Tundra/WhoreRunner style would be awesome! But I don't think they have the room, from what I understand, they only offer that window on crew cab Tundra and not reg or double for space reasons. Power sliding the existing style, meh.

The few times I've opted to use the rear sliding window I ended up being blasted with a vortex of leaves, twigs, sand and whatever else has collected in the back of my truck. Of course I use my sunroof here in AZ just about as often..... another gimmick I could live without here in the desert.

lol You sound like you could use the power window... For after you start driving with the back window open, start getting pelted with shit and realize you need it closed asap.

Do you need to know, or care?
Same. Only time I open it is when I'm hauling 10' pieces of trim from Home Depot THEN it's handy to have!

I drove my Tundra (CMax) with all windows down very often throughout spring/summer/fall any chance I got. It had great airflow and din't buffet at all with the rear window down. I'd also open just the rear going down the highway for added airflow as it drug air in from the back to the front. Very nice.

The small Tacoma rear window on the other hand causes a lot of turbulence if it's the only thing open. But I still drive with it open quite often on good days along with the side windows. The problem is when I get to my road (dirt) I have to stop and shut it before I can go down it. I used to just hit the slider and continue on my way. So I'd love a power window. Better yet would be a full slider, but that's probably not going to happen.

I've had three trucks with back windows that opened and out of all three I've opened them a total of 5 times and that is pushing it.

Jkilpatrick357 posted a spec sheet on his TRD Pro Order thread. The spec sheet showed the option "Slide+Pwr+Privacy Rear". When asked about it, he confirmed it is a power rear sliding window. On the spec sheets, it showed that it was available on the TRD Sport and Pro models but I would think it would also be available for the TRD OR also. The picture below is one of the spec sheets he posted. The upper portion (non-highlighted) of options are for the TRD Sport. Being that Jeff originally suspected the rear window may change due to part differences, this could be more proof that the 2017 Tacomas will have a power sliding rear window.
