    That would be a great test.

    Be sure to apply the adhesive UHMW before the dry moly lube or you'll be f***ed. :D Been there, done that, and I could not find a suitable chemical to remove moly once applied. lol

    You know how tough a plastic common kitchen cutting board is? Very tough, durable, and low friction coefficient--good for sliding applications.

    Take that plastic, in a thin cut 1/16" and bond it to your leaf ends. In theory, it would make a very good insulator for leaf springs.

    Kitchen cutting boards are usually made of HDPE, and UHMW is even more tough.

    I've not done the research, but the Dorman leaf spring spacers may be made out of a similar material, or could be nylon or other... dunno.

    You can shape that stuff with woodworking tools no issue , if I went that route I would use a thickness planer to plane strips down to 1/16 or so

    Finally got all my parts in after they trickled in this week.. gonna prep my Dakars.

    Questions-
    • Should I prep both ends?
    • Also where abouts should I put the material I'm using? Close to my 2nd digit or my 5th?
    • And am I pointing to the right areas?
    • Also silly question but I'm guessing it doesn't matter which side of the truck the springs go on?

    Then no it doesn't matter which side . The two leafs without the isolators in your 2nd pic is where almost all my noise comes from , doing the rear doesn't hurt either

    + and - signify leaf packs that are slightly above or below spec . If you get a mixed set it makes sense to put the higher spec one on the drivers side because of taco lean

    You'll just end up a bit higher than average . The variation is only + or - 1/4" IIRC

    Yes. It's like engineered failure. I have no issues with the springs because they seem capable of carrying anything. However, I might get the AllPros next time. Seems like they put more thought into the process.
