    Did painting over the bed liner take away from the traction provided by the bed liner? Meaning, after painting the bed liner, did it still feel like it provided a non-slick surface?

    The spray liner out of the can isn't as gritty as regular bed liner so it's not a whole lot of "traction" to begin with - but better than a smooth painter surface. It didn't appear to change the amount after the paint was applied over it.

    Are you saying that you didn't use bed liner on primed metal? I'm currently painting my Apex sliders using self etching primer and followed with Bed liner. No good?

    Actually I did the self etching primer followed by a few coats of satin (didn't like the look), then a few coats of flat black, then taper off the top plate and hit it with the bed liner, followed by a couple more coats of flat black.

    Would totally recommend them especially if you're doing a Toytec lift since they sell them as well.

    Did you have any issues installing the sliders?
    I need to get a jack to lift my truck up some more so I can drill the holes on the bottom.
    It also doesn't look like the slider lines up on the frame nicely. I couldn't get the rear of the slider to go up enough on the frame. Maybe I just didn't have it lined up good enough or need to move it around some more.
    Any tips or tricks would be great

    I should have taken a picture but what I did was mount a 2x6 on to of my old Jeep's scissor jack mounted to a 3' 2x6 base. I was able to balance the sliders on it and jack it right into place.

    How much room is actually inside the vault? I've had these in my full size trucks but afraid I won't be able to fit full size sidearm in the Tacoma version.

    Couldn't get the 229 to be straight up and down except right in the middle but no problem fitting it in at a slight angle
