I don't know much about quilting but it looks like you've done a lot of intricate designs. And i love the quilt made of crown bags!

Got to my seat cover hook project today. What a pita.
I started with a small project to test some duck weave. Made a sleeve for my camp griddle.
Came out okay. Not pretty.
Then I felt confident enough to poke holes into the seat covers.
All said and done - broke 4 needle, tons of stop and go and lots of wasted thread.
Think I kinda figured out the tension setting a bit.
I think it will be easier from now on.

I got a few things from RBTR yesterday. Put together a couple of the zippered pouches. To come, tarp and hammock. Ripstop doesn't seem too bad to work with at all, this was some 210 weight dyneema gridstop which had a PU coating. The PU coating made it fray resistant, I tried and couldn't get it to come apart.

Here's the ZPP kit as it comes.

Start by sewing the zippers on the ends of the fabric. This way you are sewing it onto a flat piece. I did a double fold kinda thing, as you'll see next.

I'm getting some solid looking seams now! You can see the edge up against the zipper is folded over, I liked the look of this. And the seams are straight, if you use a zipper presser foot especially it just guides itself straight the whole way.

Then after putting on the zippers themselves and mating them up equally, sew the ends shut.

This is what it looks like after sewing the ends.

To make it into more of a boxed shape, you kinda fold the corners opposite of how they typically lay, and sew a 45° seam. The hypotenuse that the seam creates is the vertical height of the box. My blue one (seen later) is about 3"x3"x12", for which i made that seam 3" long. I made the green one more like 2x4" or 2x5" by using a 2" seam.

Oh yeah, and when you sew the ends, make sure to insert some grosgrain for loops. If you look at the blue one, I forgot to do that and sewed them on after the fact. They come out SUPER nice looking if done properly like the green one.

Finished products. It took maybe 1 hour for the 1st pouch and 15 minutes for the 2nd one. I'd bet you could use this method to good effect for anything from a small pouch up to a duffelbag.

My whole truck is sponsored by mountain dew and surge. Lol

Now you'll just have to make your own pouches too. Custom fit for whatever you need to store.

Yes. That seems to be more challenging. These ones that I got from Blue Ridge Overland Gear are really nice.

A friend made these for me two just alike. Huge like 100" X 102" future fundraiser quilts. Sorry little blurry pic.

Why did no one tell me about this sooner?

This started it all. Bought a Brother Project Runway machine from Walmart when my son wanted to be Spongebob and all the commercial costumes sucked and I figured I could do better.

This is quite a few years old now and well played with.

Then the next year bought a Brother PE-770 embroidery machine and made a Munchkins costume for him.

Next year was an ice cream truck embroidered with ice creams and his own name in the company name. This one was probably the one that disappointed me the most on how it came out.

Went all out the next year with lights and a siren (speaker and mp3 player integrated). Designed everything and digitized all the embroidery myself.

The next year he wanted to be a minion. So I went to work.

Made my wife a purse in the meantime also.

Made some stuffed Roll Tide elephants.

Last year he wanted to be a Creeper from Minecraft. I went to work again.

Also made my wife a skirt and top hat for a Halloween party.

Bought this during the costume making time last year.

While making the elephants the Brother machine died. Which didn't really surprised me after the hell it went through with all the costumes. I replaced it with a Juki G-110. Been a lot happier with a good machine to work with.

Also have a Brother serger to secure the costumes together and make sure they last.
