image.jpg I installed the Bilstein 5100 adjustable front struts today and was expecting the lift to be 1.5" according to others that have installed them. It was definitely the full 2.5" of lift. Is this expected to settle over time or am I going to need to lift the back an inch?

If installed correctly they should settle. Those things are pretty consistent. No way you would have gotten 2 that happen to be off by an inch.

I trust the mechanic that installed them and I inspected everything that could have possibly been installed wrong and everything is seated properly. Hopefully it just settles and I don't have to lift the back. Was hoping to just level it out with these and not do anything to the rear for now. Will probably add a leaf in the future.

We set them at the highest position, which I thought would lift it 1.5".

Usually the top setting is 2.5". Next down is 1.75" third down is 0.85" and bottom is 0.0" (normal ride height). Unless there's something different with the newest gen ones. 968dfa77f0e0ac972ec43de5805b6fc7_936c15e09c63d3e5362612721c2a0758c4539526.jpg

Holy crap. What coils? I'm at .85 with OME884s on my 2nd gen and I've been at a full 3" for 13 months with no settling.

These are the 05-15 struts, so nothing different. They're set to 2.5". Just sitting higher than expected.

    This is before image.jpg
And after, front definitely higher than the back. I just need to decide if I should get it aligned like this or add an inch to the rear first. image.jpg

There is a post about the Bilstein 5100s on the 3rd generation and everyone said they'd give an inch less than what they're supposed to, because of the factory ride height being higher on the 3rd gen.

Just throw a 1" block in the back or an add a leaf and be good to go!

I going to ASSume the OP bought the 5100s for the 05-15 taco??

The 2.5 setting looks like 1.5 on the 3rd gen as explained... you got some BroLean there bro! AAL on the rears FTMFW me thinks. Level it out. I think most set it at .85 for the setup you have going right now.

Also, (and this is rarely mentioned here), grab a long Phillips head screwdriver, find a wall at dusk and adjust your headlights so you don't blind oncoming traffic or shoot lasers into cars ahead via side mirrors. As it stands, you'll be shooting headlight beams into the chemical cloud west of Lake Charles.

Hahaha apparently you're familiar with the area. I didn't know the headlights were adjustable.

Do you have pics of the bottom coil seat? If they are upside down they will give you more lift. As in the above drawing, the end of the coil should be low on the holder.

If using stock coil on 2.5" setting then you get 2.5" lift. 3rd gen factory lift came from taller coil. If use stock 2nd gen coil the you would see 1.5" as you expect.
