Interesting. I've seen your set up.

My alternate theory is that there's a big tolerance in the from ends on Tacomas. You're getting 2 deg more than I can, with either set of aftermarket UCAs I've had on it.

We'll see what I an get with DK hemmed uppers.

With my stock UCAs I could get 1.1 on a good day. That wasn't much fun.

I did a mod to my truck today!!!!

It all started yesterday when I walked out to the truck, which was parked on a slight incline with the nose pointing downhill. The bed had about 30 gallons of water in it because those stupid itty bitty so-called drain holes were clogged with crap falling from the trees. It doesn't take much to clog those little orifices.

So I got the drill out. 1/2" holes now.

We'll see how it goes. Maybe! Naturally the rain stopped about 10 minutes after I drilled it out. With my luck it won't rain again for an age.

The front hitch assembly - to my 2016 Tacoma (4x4, AC, 4 cylinder, automatic) went pretty much as planned. Who ever came up with those "fish wires" deserves an extra case of beer.
(PS: this truck is a "dog" too and I'm having to floor it all the time around our PA hills. It's strictly for "flat-landers".)

First I took out the bolts in the end caps of the frame - setting them aside as they also go back in place and their bolt goes up thru the bottom holes in the hitch and back into the end caps. I pulled the frame end caps out on both sides and set them aside too as I guessed I might get access to the hitch bolt heads up thru some holes in the frame (turned out that wasn't needed, although there are some access holes you should feel around for).

Feeding the bolt - first - thru the frame holes and then the rectangular washers was quite easy (with the fish wires threaded onto the bolt ends). I then pulled the bolt, using the fish wires, into the square holes in the washer, making sure the bolt under head square entered into the washer square holes (to lock the bolt head up).

I put the hitch on a rubber maid container (see photo included) so the hitch was up high enough in the air that I didn't need to fight with it. I took the fish wires off the bolt ends with my finger while I held onto the bolt with my other hand fingers. Leaving my fingers holding onto the bolt thread, I lifted one end of the hitch up and onto the bolt end - keeping hold of the bolt thread with my fingers. Once the hitch was onto the bolt end - it kept the bolt from moving any more. I slipped the nuts onto the bolt ends and ran them down the threads. From here, the whole thing is just buttoned up and the frame end caps are installed with their bolt going thru the bottom holes in the hitch and up into the frame - both ends.

Not that it matters but I worked on the driver's side hitch end first but didn't tighten up the nuts or frame end cap bolts until I got the passenger's side hitch on too. I did the whole thing by myself and it went fast and easy (although I'm mechanically inclined and it might be more difficult if you're not).

Good luck if you're putting one on - I found nothing difficult and the hitch (Curt hitch) fit perfectly.

Front brakes are a breeze on these trucks. I have EBC slotted rotors I forget what pads tho.
