    Let me introduce myself,
My name is Bryan and I currently reside in Durango Colorado.
This is a bit of a different build then some of my previous vehicles(88Toyo pickup on 40s and 4.3l Chevy swap, 2002 TJ on 37's locked and loaded.)

I now have a family, less money, and more of a need for a daily driver and more room for Gear!

So I purchased my 2006 DCLB in 2013 with 110,000miles.
I haven't done a whole lot to it but I might as well start a build thread to keep everything organized, together and logical.

Hopefully I meet some new friends along the way, maybe get a few pointers and or advice from some of the more experienced Tacoma guys out there.

Feel free to post pictures and or ask questions!!!

    August 2013 As purchased.

First thing that needed to be addressed was the rear shocks and springs which were shot. I decided to just replace everything all the way around. I went with the adjustable TOYTEC 3" coilover fronts and the full Dakkar 3" Rear springs and Bilstein 5100's all the way around.

After the Lift I kept the 245's for quite some time and waited for a sale to come around for new wheels and tires.
Here is after the lift parked next to a stock 2005 Tacoma fore reference.

Here are my gains on each corner for what it's worth:
    Before:
    FL:34 1/8"
    RL:35 6/8"
    FR: 34 5/8"
    RR: 35"

    After:
    FL: 37 1/2"
    RL: 38 5/8"
    FR: 37 3/4"
    RR: 38"

And here is a picture with the new lift and same tires at 12'000ft on Bolam Pass between Durango and Telluride with no Topper.(on the truck. the wife still has her top on)

Awesome. Can't wait to see the wheels you decide to go with.

After the lift a few trips happened.

Alright back to the truck. After a few trips up some sharp switch backs and having to change my drawers due to my lack of sliders that was my next purchase.

All Pro Offroad DCLB Heavy Duty Sliders with Kick out.

Then it was finally time to pull the trigger and buy some new wheels and tires!
I originally went with a 285/17/12.5 and ran them for about a week before I could no longer handle the rubbing that was occurring.
Here is what it looked like on my tests with the 285's

After this quick trip up a dirt road. I returned to the shop and had them put on the 275's instead and I am so happy I did.
Here it sits currently. (You can't tell the difference in size)

Most recently I installed a Hopkins Flex-Mount Brake Controller to pull my "New to Me" pop up camper.
Here are a few of the super easy 1hour install.
I am a large person and need all the knee room possible which is why I chose this Controller to remotely mount the computer and place the brake and monitor exactly where I wanted them. It turned out great.

The Computer mounted to the kickpanel out of the way of the Parking brake.

And the final product with the monitor on the steering column in perfect sight while driving.

The trailer I am going to be pulling. 2500lbs Dry. will be about 3000lbs fully loaded

Mine were purchased at Discount tire. they were take off wheels from someone else that returned them after 5 days of use. I paid $75 per wheel. I think they are $115 normally.

beautiful work! I'm in a similar boat just got a 2006 with only 69k miles. Great condition inside and out! Same color too. How do you like the camper shell. I'm on the fence but I think I'll get good use out of it

I took the camper shell off ONCE and will never do it again. I use the hell out of mine. Sleep in it. Trash and no need for a tarp. Its pretty great. I just need to put a rack up top

cool thanks! Being in sunny southern California im enjoying no top but still haven't decided. I have a dealer letting a good condition snugtop rebel go for $1k installed about two hours away. Might just buy it and see if I like it. Can always sell later.

btw... A nice rack up there will complete your truck imho!
