I may or may not have been a beer or two deep while doing it haha. Most of the time was used carefully popping the tabs loose. I was trying to be really careful not to break the tabs in case I want to use the stock grille again.

 

Did the v6 debadge, black vinyl inserts and front rail for bike rack

 

Got up into the mountains today. Last time with stock tires.. Mounting my new SCS RAY 10's with KO2's this week.

Where did you get that front rail? Link?

 

I'll post a better photo of the bed with the cover open tomorrow. There is a keyed lock on the drivers side near cab.

I went to Toyota and ordered it directly through them. its the same rail off the 15 and older tacomas. Mounts right up using existing holes and hardware

 

Couple of questions: What company did the grill come from? Did the Grill outer trim (Chrome on the original) come with the grill or did you have to paint it? Also is the different sizes of the white Toyota letters? Thanks.

Also, how did you get them off? Did they pop off from the inside towards the door?

It is from Custom Car Grills (http://www.customcargrills.com/Toyota-Truck-Grills.asp), and there are several options as far as how it comes depending on how light you want to make your wallet You can get just the mesh, and then you would have to use the outer bezel that you already have, or you can order the mesh installed on a new OEM bezel. I ordered mine with a new flat black bezel because I wanted to keep my original chrome grille and bezel should I decide to go back to it or paint it or whatever. As far as the letters, you can have big letters installed on the mesh (a drop down option on the above link), but what I got was this http://www.customcargrills.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Toyota_OEM_Emblem , which can also come either installed or loose. There are several different badge and letter options with this grille on the Grill Letter tab at their site (http://www.customcargrills.com/Grill-Letters.asp).

New cover on my bed❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

 

Question for all of those out there with the factory TRD bed cover.... Is there anyway to tighten up the seal at the back seem to be a bit loosey goosey. I can pull up and have about a 3/4 inch gap when its latched

 

With mine I put the gate up first, then drop the last portion of the cover down, and after it latches I give it a good hard push down on both corners. That way if the drop doesn't latch it all the way the push will. Every once in a while I will here a final click when I give it the second push. So far that has seemed to keep any water out of the bed for me.
