Complexity? There isn't much to an air ride setup. If you want complicated, go look under your hood. I'll grab a random wire and rip it out, then you can go grab a random air line and rip it out. We'll see who gets back onto the road first.

I don't have the truck anymore although I owned a 1997 F-350 dually with a full Firestone air bag setup in the rear. There was no springs other than an emergency overload spring which the truck could ride on in the event on an emergency. The truck drove like a dream and would tow our 20,000+ pound race trailer like there wasn't anything behind you, or planted in the bed.

like relative to a leaf setup...leafs yeah....unless you snap it theres not much that can go wrong. bags can puncture and lines can go bad etc. im not saying their bad setups or unreliable at all but there are more parts to go wrong....

u try and pluck a wire from an ISX or something and ill do the same for my truck and we'll see whos on the road first :p

I took a while replying to this... sue me.

Personally, I think lowered/slammed pickups look...well, not retarded like some have claimed. But I certainly look at them and my first thought is "someone stripped the truck off the chassis!" Kind of like, oops, we forgot to put the body onto something.

I will admit, there's lots of thought, love, energy and money that goes into them. It's not for me. But I got a good laugh a lot of nights at work watching some guy make his car dance in the parking lot!

It's all preference. I just did a 3/4 kit on my 10 Burrito (taco) because I felt it just had too much wheel well / tire clearence and looked funny to me stock. I don't haul tons of stuff, don't off road, and DO like lifted trucks. I can still totally use my truck like a truck after we did the frame notch (yea, it's brand new). I live in the midwest where we get snow maybe 4 times a year and I can throw the studded tires on my 2wd if I need to.
No flaming... to each his own.
