What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

did it this morning

make sure you have gray or red rev silicone for the timing chain half moons and the new spark plug hole grommets. Also make sure the gasket comes with all the new grommets. spark plug and bolt holes...

was pretty simple otherwise, only took 1 - 2 hours .

Installed my 3" lift yesterday on my black taco. Now she sits taller than my 4runner. Going to have to fix that. sorry for the horrible pic to lazy to get out of bed.

I've seen a stock 2004 4cyl pre runner do 110 ( it was run at that speed for about 5 minutes, you could see the fuel gauge dropping), these trucks are governed to ~115 or they run out of power thereabouts.

 

I had to go VLEDS for the front corners, license plate, third brake, and the instrument cluster. Tried several LEDs from ebay and Amazon and Superbright and they all started flickering in a few days. Been several months on the VLEDS.

Yeah looking back wasn't the smartest idea but it was 3am and I had to pee really badly haha. I was pretty impressed with this lil 2.7 liter 4 banger.
I'd love to swap the newer 4.0 v6 into it to keep it legal for class 2000.

Maybe his mascara smeared and he needed a well lit bathroom to fix it. Kill two birds with one stone kinda thing. Really the only explanation of a guy needing to drive 114 mph to find a bathroom in the middle of the night.
