Adio, can you give a bit more detail how you did the illuminated 4x4 switch conversion. I am interested in this mod as well

Got mine all cleaned up today. It's the first time I've given it a good wash since the fall.

BMT brand? China light bar, with supposed 7w Osram Led chips from this seller:http://stores.ebay.com/soldeasy?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 Purchased both my 32" 5d and 42" 4d curved from seller for about $100 a piece shipped with best offer. Currently he doesn't have any 32" in stock. Good quality as far as I can tell, military breathers, dual mounting points on bar itself, connectors on wiring ends and comes with a better wiring harness than most others I've seen. As far as mounting, used supplied brackets with self tapping screws originally, but became loose and stripped out aluminum on crash cans. So got some M6 jack nuts, some stainless 1.5inch M6 stainless hex bolts and reused the the brackets. Total cost to mount was about $5 but you do have to drill into the crash cans but covered so you don't see it. Solid mount hasn't moved. The above-mentioned brackets sound like an excellent alternative but didn't want to shell out the $ as you can tell how much I spent on the whole lighting setup. Super bright, look great, great quality for the price.

:anonymous: Whoops, never mind I thought I saw you post your truck in his thread and assumed you had his mounts.

I'm in the "no 285's" camp...I might get some 255/85's for the height on a second set of rims for play only...for normal use I'm getting 265/75/16 Firestone Destination AT's...good street manners and works very well in the snow. Most of the bigger tires are 10 ply, and I'm not a fan of the 8 plys the truck came with....for general use I'd rather have a bit softer and quieter.

Sounds like a killer trip. I took my 1st gen to the Dugway geode beds last year, it was miles and miles of straight & flat washboards. I was literally floating on the dirt road doing 60-70 at some points. Fun times, though I don't think I'd rattle my new truck that much.

I'm surprised how many people steer away from the BFG A/T. They ride almost as quiet as the pricey Michelin A/Ts, have fantastic mud & snow traction, and last a long time. I think they're the best Tacoma tire out there.

Question for you Baja and Pro pros. Admittedly I don't know much about lifts, takeoff vibes, etc. I installed an Icon Progressive 3 leaf pack and left the overload in. I want to lift the truck an inch up front to eliminate the rake as a result of leaving overload in. After the 3 leaf install, I noticed a take off vibe that wasn't there before. My question is, will lifting the front an inch do anything to eliminate the vibes or do I have to focus on my Baja's rear end to solve the problem? I love the ride with the overloads in and would rather maintain the rear lift unless those vibes are detrimental to my truck overall. Any help would be appreciated. I was gonna go with the spring seat spacers for the front. Thanks!!

Oh yeah. I also just got some Duratracs installed 265/75/16 on the grey Baja wheels that came with my white truck and I have to say that they are AWESOME!! To me the truck rides so much better with a little more rubber under me. I got 'em in load range C.

Try tightening the ubolts.....mine did the same thing then I re-tightened the ubolts and it was gone. If you want it level, once you do the spring seat spacer you'll have to take out the overload. Otherwise you'll have the rake.
