It is an early year for us! We have been eating out of the garden for a month now. Just put tomatoes into the green house today, three weeks early!

With all the screen, how do the polenaters get in to do their job? Is the screen big enough of that or is the top open?

Yeah , its 3/4"x3/4" square , galvanized hardware cloth .

Its like chicken wire but square , bees can get in and out no problem , birds can't get in

Let the bird and her chicks (plus her adopted ones from the local Farmer's Union) out into the yard for a little while this evening.

Moved their chicken tractor out into the fenced in front yard/garden area this morning, and it's where they'll live for the next week or so until I start integrating them into the rest of the flock. The small chicks are only a week younger than the other birds, but they're bantams so they're smaller anyway. Still, it's amazing how fast they grow. If humans grew like that we'd be 4 feet tall by our 1st birthday.

Very nice. I picked a few onions for a trip out to my parents, dad couldn't wait for them. My peas just started blooming on Sunday. Broccoli is going to start putting a head on any day now. I have beans to put in after the broccoli is done, and need to plant some loofa.

Our first cucumber and squash/zucchini harvest of the season. Canned some relish and jarred some sliced cukes for fermenting, they should be ready in a week or so. A quilt my mother in law made makes a good backdrop :)
