Vibes after Dakar install - replace 885 coils with 887?

I'm not asking how to fix this as I have read THE thread on the possible fix. This is just a slight vibration when leaving a light or a stop sign. I didn't have these issues before I installed the Dakar leaf pack. I'm running 885 coils with Billy 5100 and the full Dakar leaf pack without the d29xl add a leaf.

What I'm wondering is if swapping the 885 coils for the 887 coils will help with this issue since it will in theory change the angles again. Not sure if this will make it better or worse...

    Any thoughts on this?

EDIT: Before the Dakar's I had a custom .5" AAL to level my truck. The measurement from hub centre to under fender was 23" and with the Dakar's it's 25".

I had the same vibes when I swapped out my leafs with TSB's, paired w/ Wheelers 3 leaf AAL, and left the deadload. The vibes are at around 10 MPH's minimal, but noticeable. I installed OME carries bearing drop, but its still there. I have gotten used to it, but am worried about long term permanent issues.

How are front coils going to help a rear vibe?

I don't know that they will, I just figured if I got the driveline angles closer to what they were before I put the Dakar leafs in it might help.....

I would try axle shims first.

You can also drop the carrier bearing, or flip it. Or both.

Thanks DCSBFTMFW. I have a carrier bearing drop kit, I'll look into flipping it. Axle shims or solid axle will be next.

I think he means one piece drive shaft, not solid axle - as that still wouldn't do anything for a rear vibe. It would be rad though.

I did the Carrier Bearing flip and it magnified it so I returned it back to normal and put the drop kit back in. Still have a little vibe but I have an aftermarket Carrier Bearing waiting to go in. @luchin how are ya brother, long time since we talked

Lifting the front will have no affect on rear driveline angle

I'm good my friend. I'll bring you up to speed in a PM. But I'll say this, I have an incurable disease called Tacoma...sooo about this aftermarket Carrier Bearing...care to share? Did you do axle shims? The vibration is minimal, so much so that sometimes I don't notice it...but it's there and it shouldn't be.

Although I wonder if bringing the front end up a little more would aid with the issue, putting in 887 coils is more of an excuse to put in 887 coils.

As said above lifting the front end more will do nothing for any rear stuff. I had shims and the vibe was worse so I took them out. I will link you to the aftermarket CB.

Posted my reply to Unchained before I read your post, I figured such. I may have another excuse for 887 coils and since we're all here, lets chat about that....:D

    Running with 885/billy 5100 front, Dakar/billy 5100 rear without the d29xl AAL.
SCS 16X8 SR8 with 265/75/16 Toyo Open Country AT II

At full lock I rub here, you can see where the mud flap is roughed up. Curiously, I'm only rubbing on the drivers side and I wonder if it's because I never put the Taco lean spacer in when I lifted it? Any thoughts on that, go ahead someone say it...remove the flap or trim it. I know that, lol. I'm just wondering if it's because I never used the spacer.

Wow I have never had any rubbing at all with 265/75/16's on TRD Beadlock wheels

Damn:frusty: thanks Siesta, that's exactly what I mean. More questions...I'm told by my shop that I can get a one piece drive shaft for $500 by using my OEM parts to build it....opinions please? What are other options for one piece drive shafts?

Thanks for all the help everyone here has offered, it's been a great place to learn and spend money:D
