The finished product!! Sorry for bad pics but I finished it at like 1am last night and wanted to drive around to recharge the battery. Basically I had to make my own wiring harness and route a power, ground, and RCA cable all the way into the cab. I used the reverse backup light in the cab to power the camera and reverse gear input on my head unit. Works like a charm, although I am worried about how those wires will hold up to rain and moisture. I can always repair wires and RCA jacks. For good measure I used silicone to coat where the RCA wire enters the camera. I think it'll work out just fine!!

 

Good Jerb! I'm guessing 2008's are not prewired for cameras?

If someone wants to duplicate your project and needs a camera ready tailgate handle, I have my OEM one laying in the shop from when I did my Pop-a-lock.

I'm fixing to take on this project with an aftermarket camera. The reverse backup write you used.. Is that the red wire under the kick plate?
