Yep, typical. Wrap a 1.5" putty knife with a wrap of electrical tape, slide it under the controller and work it outward. Just be advised that if the one side is dark, it can be the opposite bulb because of the way that the light pipes are designed.

Did you ever figure this one out? I've replaced a couple of sets over a 3 month span and now they work intermittently. Driving home the other day my blower motor also paused a second (long enough to notice) before kicking on. Haven't had time to tear into it and start testing, but was hoping it was a fuse that I'm just missing before I jump in and start chasing it down the rabbit hole.

But yeah, I'm having the issue with my bulbs. One was working, then the other, then neither, then they both worked and now nothing. Even did the sweet sweet HVAC knob upgrade and I can't see them at night. BOO.

Yep, I'll turn on my lights some mornings/nights and both light up, sometimes just one side (it's not particular), sometimes I have no lights. It's getting frustrating to someone who's not so good at wiring/checking wiring.:annoyed:

Something I've thought about but haven't been able to take the time to check...

You know how the bulbs have wires that wrap around and make contact to the copper on the PCB board? Could it be that they are just smushed flat and one side or the other isn't making good contact?

Wondering if it's as easy of a fix as just taking the bulbs out, prying the wires up a bit and then reinstalling? :notsure:

I got it working for now, I cleaned the connection on the blower switch and ended up shimming the light bulbs with a tiny piece of aluminum foil to make them tighter as when I pressed on the back of the bulb they came on. It works for now, how long it lasts is still to be seen.
