well, I just drove all the way from santa cruz to reno and back, and I guess I saw some tacos but none memorable to ask, 'dat you??'

my kid took over the helm this morning, and drove us to some gnarly muddy offroad hill, officially breaking in my tacos offroad abilities. holy crap, he took some crazy lines, and it just did it. the mud was almost too much for the brand new 265/70 KO2's...

my camera batt was dead from shooting video the night before, so I got nuttin to show for it but a bunch of mud in my driveway from hosing the Taco off.

It was knarly.....there was a huge pond i guess you could call it on the trail to the campsite. I would say about 2 feet deep and about 40 yards long. My sis in law said "damn its a truck and a submarine"....lol....the river is super full

Anyone near Bridgeport/395 area? There's a great camping spot up in the Marine Warfare Training Center. Thinking of a group thing if enough people are interested. It's FS roads. Nothing terribly adventurous. But a nice area with no other people.

Is that the small campground off the side of the highway just west of the Marine Camp, or are you talking off-highway/undeveloped sites a ways off 108? I haven't had a chance to explore much back there, but it is at a good distance for at least an overnight if leaving late from Sac and headed down 395 toward Mono and spots south. Usually I start getting exhausted after making it that far. Any good fall colors back there?
