I'm beginning to rethink this lift early in the a.m. Schedule. It's such a bitch to wake up early eat then drive out to the gym and try and be motivated at 4:00 am.

I love the gym atmosphere. It's one of the highlights of my day getting to go in and talk to people that actually give a damn about lifting and shit when I'm surrounded by fatasses who don't care at work (although lately, I've been that fatass)

We kind of have an unwritten rule with the mods in this thread thanks to mod and fellow lifter @sean266. A few years ago, I was posting lots of reaaaaaally suggestive gym pics and got temporarily banned for it. Luckily, my internet gym bros stood up for me and we settled that if the girls are wearing clothing you'd see at a regular gym and the pics/gifs are actually gym-related, they don't violate the CoC. Nothing wrong about a chick in a sports bra and yoga pants doing a squat...no matter how tight the clothes are, how sweaty she is, or how slow the video is going

I love that people in other threads bitch about it though haha.

I do something similar, but I base mine off 225 lbs. If I can't rep 225 more than 12 times, I know not to try to max out on bench.

My theory is that if I can work my way up 80%, 85%, 90% ect. x3 or x4 then my 225 reps will also increase. I'd rather do that than have a workout focused on repping 225 as many times as possible and not testing heavier weight. Now, I do agree with 225 being the bench mark for knowing strength though. I wish I could hit it as many times as some of those guys who go to the combine.

They look like wrestling singlets. This is gonna piss everyone off, but I don't like the tanks and shirts with all the jokes on them and stuff. I dunno why, but I just don't. I have a few 'Merica tank tops from like Rowdy Gentleman, but most of my gym shirts are just former t-shirts with the sleeves cut off strategically for maximum illusion of gainz. Mostly UGA shirts

Agreed 100%. I always go above 225, but that's always my tell on how heavy I'm actually gonna go.

Awesome. I'm in a small town, so I'd eventually like to be a judge here...very low stress job. Not the best money-maker, but I'm hoping that's what my legal career will be for and being a judge/bartender at the golf course/gym owner will be more of something to keep me from dying of boredom lol

Well shit. I'm still new to the whole weight lifting part of this. I did that weight for 2 but not in set. I dropped the first time time took a breather for about 20 seconds and tried t again and got it. To me that isn't a set am I correct ? I just would like to get in the 1000's before end of year as a combined on the big three. Right now I can get 325 for 1 on bench, 375 for 1 on dead and 250 for 1 on squat (knee injury in highschool) I have pushed 350 on the machine on squat but I don't count those.

There's a version of 5x5 that is like that...its 1 rep, rest 10 sec, 1 rep. You do 5 sets of 5 reps like that.

I consider a set any time I lift and a rep as how many I get per set. For example:

    bench press:
    135x20
    225x12
    315x1

    That's 3 sets of 20 reps, 12 reps, and 1 rep.

At those numbers, you're only 50 lbs away from 1000 lbs. I'd try to add as much as possible to all three lifts, then you'd only need to add 16-17 lbs per lift to hit 1000 lbs. That's around 2-3 lbs per month per lift. It's doable, but generally you'd want to be bulking and not cutting when you try to do it. It can be done while cutting, but it's much harder. It's not a completely unrealistic goal though.

lol - that is usually when I finally breakdown and cut. Sarah (wife) hates a long beard and the long hair but I've gotten good at ignoring her negativity :lalala:and empty threats of "you are going to wake up in a pile of hair after I shave it in your sleep" but my neighbors and friends started making comments the past few days about it. I also went to the beach this weekend and couldn't stop the head sweat. The final straw was mowing my grass a couple hours ago and having to wrap my shirt around my head as a headband :pout:

This was the longest I had gone in a while. I usually go into 'No Shave November' and then just keep going. So around 6 months this time. If we ever have a baby, I'm not shaving or cutting for as long as Sarah would be preg. That could get pretty long if I have a good starting point once that would happen...

My last buzz cut was around July-August last year. I don't get the reasoning behind the pregnancy thing lol? You want the baby to come out and see you with long hair or something?

Decided to run my gains away. Been running instead of lifting these past few days. It clears my head better than lifting and that helps with finals. Today I did 45 minutes and 15 walking on a incline.

I've been thinking about about going back down to a very very trimmed beard. I get it trimmed enough to shape it when I get a haircut but it's still pretty manly. The girl I've been hanging out with lately keeps telling me I won't get any if I shave....which is totally backward from what I'm used to.
