    I would not go back to in board. It drives better now and is more stable. Shocks don't hit the gas tank anymore. I have bed space again

    Any 1st gen guys box their rear frame? Did you also plate the outside of the frame and the top or bottom?

    I boxed the inside and plated the outside, but did not plate anything on the top or bottom

    That's what I figured. How thick of steel? How did you paint the inside of the boxed part to prevent rust?

    I think I used 3/16, I did not paint the interior before I installed but mine is only partially boxed, so I sprayed a bunch in after. Being AZ I wasnt too worried but Jon found some good stuff to precoat before you weld the pieces in

    i would say 1/8" is also fine. similar thickness to your frame already. but going overkill isnt always bad either

    Does anyone see an issue with mounting a tab to the OEM LCA for a limiting strap or would it be better to purchase a set of LCA skids and weld a tab to them?
