Happy to hear new theories for a fix!!! I wanted to let you know the diagnosis for my 2016 Tacoma. "The harmonic vibration comes from the engine shifting between Atkinson and Otto cycles to save fuel. Toyota took this engine from the Lexus which uses both electronic and hydraulic engine mounts. The 2016 Tacoma uses RUBBER engine and transmission mounts." I am eager to hear the resolution. Thanks to all for their efforts on this major engineering flaw.

After a nice header burn I felt my fuel lines from tank to engine. No real vibrations. I can feel a slight movement in the lines mid truck. the rest is non existent. I dunno. Could be from the engine in different cycles. I want to weight my exhaust and see it that is it next. Put a glove on and had a friend rev to 2600 rpm. The whole things has vibes. Exhaust to tranny.

Well, I would tell them that is all fine and dandy but I'd still prefer for it not to give me a foot and hand massage. If it was only due to the engine cycles, then every single person would be complaining. But lo and behold we have members saying they feel no buzzing vibration whatsoever. So sure, an aspect of the cycles could be the deepest root cause, but there is something in between causing the issue for us.

can you try again after the car has cooled off (it will rev higher)? EDIT: Actually, just checked mine hot (after 30 miles drive home) and i still feel it. So if you feel nothing, then there is definitely a difference.

I am 100% positive I am not super sensitive to this. It took one touch on the line for me to instantly recognize it.

I forget wvugis, do you have only gas pedal or steering wheel vibes as well?

I have pedal, little steering, footrest and felt it in the passenger floor when the SM was test driving it today. Plus side is it is documented and he told to to go ahead and put my "moderate"lift on.

Many pages ago I was suggesting that maybe someone hacks the exhaust near cylinders a little bit to see if it changes things.

Thank you for pursuing this. Also tell your service manager he is a good guy and an honest person. Only if the same could be said about the drones in the Toyota customer service department.

Here are pictures of what I am talking about for feeling the lines (to make things clearer)

    1. Driver side front wheel well. The larger line can be seen here (circled and pointed to in red). It runs really close to the wall. They hold this line and the fuel lines down the body with the same plastic brackets. You can kneel down here and touch the lines with your finger even if the car is hot. The lines won't be. I can feel the vibration in the lines and along the thin sheet metal that the protector flap attaches to. However, it is less intense of course.

    2. Here is a close up (and slightly angled) shot of the circled area. You can see how close things get. The larger diameter line (purge line?) runs close to the side wall (that holds the protector flap) as it runs up to the engine. I believe the smaller ones are the fuel pipes, but I'm not 100% sure (see third image).

    3. Here is a picture of how the lines are mounted under the body on the driver side.

We should get a list of our case numbers and send them to Toyota Corp with all of us cc'd. Give a brief on the problem and demand a response or we file arbitration together. They would have a hard time saying it is the first time. State we are sending it to the better business bureau. I been through a large arbitration case back in 2008 with toyota. Stating submission to BB and filing with them makes them listen.
Then visit showrooms talk to buyers about the poor service you are experiencing. The GM will ask you in the office and talk then give him your case number too.
That equates to a direct call to Corp.
I just hope my SM solves it soon.

Ok thank you. When I feel that line, exactly where I circled it, I feel a buzzing vibration engine cold or hot. I can also grab that line anywhere from engine to gas tank and feel the vibe. So something is going on.

I have the vibe to. Noticed it got worse as the fuel level dropped closer to empty. After a fill up I had to find a nice strait flat road with no distraction and I could hardly notice it.

I'll pay more attention as I burn this tank of gas to see what happens.

I didn't read through every post on here, too many which is an issue in itself. My understanding is the vibration issue is related to the transmission issue. I have both

They agreed--which is why the truck has been sitting in service for 3 months waiting for Toyota Motor Corporation to issue a fix. Stay tuned. Totally unacceptable for a 40K vehicle. I can literally feel your vibes man...

Agreed. I am not getting it back. I am monitoring the progress to the fix so I can share it with all on this thread.
