Just checked my mileage this morning and I am getting an astounding 22.3mpg on the highway and granted 90% of my driving is commuter mileage but I'll take it anyway! I just go the speed limit sometimes a little under, never heavy on the excelerator, cruise control and ECT button on all the time with stock 265/70R16's filled at 35psi. I love this truck, can't wait for hunting season!!

I'm getting just a hair over 20mpg highway, 2004 v6 4x4, manual with TRD supercharger/headers/exhaust. Pretty happy with that :)

I was told by the mechanic though that my fuel filter needs changing, so maybe I'll see even better mpg after that? :notsure:

Ok so i may have just screwed myself. I removed and cleaned it all , but lost one of the screws that hold the MAF sensor in place. Tried replacing it with another screw and it was the wrong size and now I can't get it out or in. MAF Sensor housing is part of the airbox, so i guess I need to order a new airbox and MAF sensor. (RockAuto) US prices are far lower than CDN prices. Locally they want $1200 for box and sensor... US $400 with overnight shipping.

So what kinda damage can I cause running my vehicle for a couple of days with a partially seated MAF sensor?

You mean one of the two little screws that holds the MAF sensor housing in place on the airbox? As long as you have the other one tightly screwed in maybe you can fasten the other corner to it using a small piece of tape temporarily? I don't imagine it will be a problem, if the sensor housing is in place as long as you fix it there securely it should be okay, at least temporarily until you get the new parts in.

Yup one of those 2 little screws. stupid me it fell into my chassis somewhere. I tried replacing it, but I guss I used a standard bolt instead of a metric one. It was suggessted by a friend to silicone it until my new parts come in. (yes/no)?

Yeah I was cleaning mine a couple weeks ago and I remember being really nervous I might drop one of them, that area is a little tight to hold them in place while putting them in.

Yeah, I think you're safe to try and use some kind of adhesive for the time being, if I remember correctly the screw area isn't attached to the actual air intake hose or near the sensor itself so it won't contaminate it. Someone else might have a better suggestion though. Maybe you can just get away with the one screw holding it there in the meantime? Worse case scenario is it won't read the airflow properly and the truck won't start or will run rough.

That would be a problem as I need truck to get to work. Guess i'll go silicone the crap out of it

Well yeah but I don't see that happening (truck not running) as long as the sensor housing is in place and secured, with the screws or otherwise.

Also, if the truck idles low after you start her up, that's normal...after I cleaned mine it had a low idle for a bit but went back to normal after a few minutes or driving around.

Here is a picture of how much fuel I have left at 306 miles.
This was winter time and I noticed in the last week or two a significant improvement in mpg, they must have switched back to summer fuel, as my travels are very consistent day to day.

I get about 270-280 miles per tank (mostly in city driving) with 2.5" lift & 285 mud terrains.

    Disclaimer: I drive conservatively.

Well I get 300 miles from a tank (3.4, auto, 4x4, dbl cab, 163K miles, 265/75/16 all terrains) on the highway with lots of coasting down hills. In town I get normally 250 miles per tank. Most I have gotten on the highway is around 315 miles per tank.

Well I replaced the MAF sensor and the airbox and new air filter. I've increased my gas mileage by about 40 miles. so I'm getting about 240 miles to the tank now. running low grade 89 octane.
