I learned my lesson quick, I don't use organized campgrounds any more. Too much other people's shit to deal with.

Anyways... Behind the MWTC is national forest. Even though you have to access it by checking in at the base gate, military ID is NOT required.
Due to most people thinking is a base and can't get on it/thru it, no one goes there.

It's dirt roads but easy driving. Colors were great back there this past fall. 108, Tioga Rd should both be open soon to access the east side!

I hear you on organized camps. We generally avoid them. But when towing the teardrop they can be beneficial, especially on more road-trip-oriented and less backcountry-oriented trips (like 5 NPs in 12 days in Utah). And especially because we are about to start doing this with a tiny human for the first time.

When we do our fall color trips, we are usually hitting a different location/canyon every day depending on how the colors go that year. Then we are hit-and-run to campgrounds for the most part, and doing dayhikes/opportunistic photo walks each day. People are simply unavoidable during that sort of trip.

But the less developed, the better. We are looking forward to lesser known areas where I can get the trailer in with out destroying it with gravel and ruts, or where at some point we can simply go RTT into the middle of nowhere, 4x4 required in undeveloped areas.

Is the valley above the one that lies to the south of the Marine camp, on the south side of 108? I remember poking around on Google Earth and seeing what is similar terrain to that.

Nice! Post some good pics. I've been tossing around the idea of a full rack and the ones I've seen from him recently look badass!

I got the low profile bed rack with the hopes that it will fit in my garage with the RTT attached. It's gonna be close. I will definitely post pics asap.

Heard much about this beer. Never consumed one. Someday. Maybe. Guess I'll go have a shot of bourbon while I'm thinking about it.

Haha its a damn good IPA. Stays in high demand because low supply. Two bottle max at stores that sell it. You can buy a case at the brewery though. Friend bought a case Sunday and gave me two. I was STOKED!
