I haven't torn a boot or broken a cv yet with mine. Didn't have a bumper on for over a year and it was fine. One boot spit some grease but that's it.

 

@Geosense what size ko2's are those ? 265 or 285 ? Do you have a link for that soft topper you have ? Good looking rig ! Thanks in advance !

Agreed...we are tent camping with an ez-up shade at Canyonlands Campground in town. There's a pool and ice nearby, so we will be good.

Plan is to mountain bike early and explore with AC in the Tacoma during the day.

 

Mine now has OME 881/Nitrochargers at the front with a diff drop and Dakar/Nitro/at the back.

I should be able to fit 285/75R16 tires on 16x8 3.5" backspace wheels with minor trimming and pinch weld mod, right? Or are 881s too low for that setup?

 

With some trimming, you can run the 285s.

^^^ Sweet. Will do. Will be on FN Five Stars - Just debating between Duratracs, Falken AT3W, Toyo ATII and Cooper ST MAXX. At 285/75R16, all of them will be Load E. I might go with the Duratracs because they are the lightest.

 

Did you have a leaf pulled from your Dakar pack? Or is this just 881s with the full pack? Sits really level. I thought it would be raked since the dakars are 2.25"

I've got an OME kit inbound and was wondering if you think I'll need larger front bump stops. I'll be running 881 w nitrochargers.

I bought some energy suspension bumpstops for the rear, but never gave the front any thought.

Front will be fine without larger bumpstops, the OME is designed to use the stock bumps.

For those who installed the energy suspension bumpstops onto the frame:

Am I supposed to place he ubolts directly onto the leaf springs? Right now the bump stops kind of give them a home. I can just torque them down with no bumpstop plate?

 

Hoping the experts here can help me. My 2001 PreRunner 2WD is at 140,000 and the suspension is shot, so it's time for replacement. I'd like to upgrade with Bilstein 5100's and some OME coil over springs, but have no idea which ones I should get.

I don't go off-road, but do get on some fairly nasty washboard dirt roads from time to time. Mostly paved roads though.

Suggestions, recommendations and/or comments please.

 

Hi all, I posted this on another thread but this one seems to be more active.

Its time to upgrade the suspension on my 04 Taco as the rear leafs are sagging. Ive been thinking on buying a full OME setup with a AAL. I need some help on picking the correct coils for the front, Currently i only have the stock bumper but soon after i get the lift done I will be buying the Trail Gear Bumper. Question is, do i buy the 881 coils as the TG bumper is not that heavy or the 883 for extra weight? I heard to stay away from the 882 due to overextending the shocks.

 

Is there anyone running ome shocks with 880 springs on an extended cab v6, I'm looking for measurements from the center of the hub to the fender at ride height.

Pictures of the angle of the lca or aftermarket (uniball) uca would be great.
