Can I drive around with no axles in? Also, do I need to worry about putting in new grease into the axles? Any fluid coming out with two open axle spots? First time for everything kind of situation haha

You can't drive with no axles

The wheel bearing will fall apart

I had a feeling you couldn't, just double checking. Never messing with axles, I don't know what to do really. So after taking them apart, I just need to regrease them and put them back together while replacing the longer axles, correct? Any grease recommendations? Also... Sorry for so many questions. First LT truck, plus being on the east coast, I would rather do all the work myself than try and find a shop who even knows what LT even is haha

If you have a CAT dealer anywhere near you get their " desert gold " grease, it comes in caulk gun / grease gun tubes and you will need 4. If you are not confident about doing the axles see if there is a machine shop or driveline shop open on Saturday near you and drop the axles off while you work on everything else.

Replacing my uniballs... should I go with or without teflon liner?

They get torn up pretty fast and the liner starts coming out of the uniball. As I lose pieces of the liner will that introduce slop into the uniball, or is that just losing the lubricating action of the teflon?

Think you can remove the front ds though to bypass 4wd if you need.

What axles, Tundra? Are you welding on coil bucket gussets?

Also just a heads up but you're prolly gonna need more than 2 days to do a full front LT kit. Mine took longer that's for sure. And you'll probably find 5 things wrong that needs modded or a tool you don't have or things that you need to go get. You know, when you start out a project, I say to myself, " I know something will go wrong." Because it always does. My new saying before I start, " I know 11 things are going to go wrong." Just helps with sanity.

That doesn't help any since the axles still have to be in to prevent destroying the wheel bearings.

its a camburg kit. You can install it in one day, as long as you can get the axles apart, that's defenetly the longest part of the process. Like recommended if you don't have the right tools have your axles torn down a reassymbled by a shop on Saturday morning while you install the kit.

Do you have a welder? You'll need one to install the limit straps. I'd personally look into taking a vacation day on the following Monday just in case something doesn't work out. Most shops are closed on Sunday and you'll want to spend some time cycling everything to make sure your axles don't bind, also you will need to get the truck aligned.

Whatever you do don't try driving the truck without axles or atleast axle stubs in the diff to avoid draining all the fluid out and in the hub. As stated about everything the 4wd bearings are held together by your axles

Another thing is make sure you have all the parts to do the axles. I bought the CV kits with grease, clamps, and c-clips at the dealer and had to wait an additional 3 days since it was a special order.

I installed my used TC kit (4x4) over a day and a half, enough to get it rolling and it aligned enough to drive it to a shop. However I still need to strap it, bump it, cycle it, adjust it, mount the resi cans, do bypasses, replace some minor hardware. That being said its pretty much going to come back apart halfway, and reassembled over another weekend. This coming from someone who had very few issues and is familiar taking the front end apart.

Not to burst your bubble but like Josh said plan for something to not fit, missing parts, or be a bitch to get on/off on top of figuring it out for the first time. 2 full weekends or a week after work IMO. Good luck!
