I think just the opposite. Because the truck isn't that wide the dclb looks awkward to me, almost limo like. Now the access cab, imo, is the best looking configuration.

Gotta have the longer bed to haul a wiener this big.

    Known fact.

I've owned the longbed and shortbed 2nd gen Tacomas. Only reason I purchased a DCSB for my 3rd gen is because the DCLB wouldn't fit in my garage and I'm spoiled....I don't park outside!! But long story short is with the backup camera, the longbed is no problem.

I think the short bed looks stubby and disproportionate to the looooonnngggg front end of the 2016. I also like the extra body lines you get on the long bed. It's a crime against humanity that it is not offered with the manual.

Just do what everybody else does including myself.... buy the shortbed first then realize later how you fucked up.

Some of us go back and correct our mistakes, the rest live with them.

You didn't specifically ask this, but I went with a short bed for three reasons:

    1. I like the look better.
    2. It's an offroad/camping rig, not a work rig. It's a more maneuverable on tight trails and over most obstacles.
    3. I got a great price on a used one with a short bed.

I will say, though, for that one time annually when I carry something large back there, the short bed kind of suck.

The correct answer is: It depends.

Ha yeah, I agree. To each their own. No real winner. All depends on what suits your needs the best.

Agree 100%. My needs necessitate I buy a LB this time around. But I adore a 6MT. Sadly that isn't offered. So I either have to choose transmission or space... sigh.

I know the struggle. You are not alone. Here on Tacoma World you can speak openly about your frustration stemming from the lack of configuration options on the long bed without being judged. This is a safe zone. We are here for you.
