Hey, thanks for the invite to this thread. :)

I'd be good with meeting up sometime. Sounds like some of you guys are into guns.....be fun to meet up for lunch and do some shooting afterward at an outdoor range!

Welcome. Yeah if anyone wants to shoot we could just meet up at the range and that could be our tacoma meet...lol only places I know of are Olofson (Polk city), Banner (Indianola) and crossroads (indoor).

Just an idea. I'd be game to just meet for a drink or a meal somewhere, too.

Have property south of Des Moines that we built a range on if anybody wants. Or there is an indoor in Boone as well.

That'd be great! I'd supply guns (mostly handguns), ammo, hearing and eye protection, if people don't have any of those things. I'm always happy to teach newcomers the basics of safety and target shooting, so nobody should feel like they are not invited if they don't have shooting experience. :)

That would be good for me. I don't have any of that. No experience with guns and I do want to get a gun and concealed weapons permit in the very near future.

Cool, and good for you! I'd be more than happy to let you try out some small, concealed carry guns to get a better idea of which one you might like to buy at a later time.

How does next Sunday sound. The 22nd? Can do a little cruise down, about 45 minutes. Bring your own guns, ammo, snacks, fishing poles. Can make a morning afternoon of it. I just have to get back in time for an event that evening? Can start a headcount now? I might be able to provide some bottles for targets. We have a range for 25,50,100 yards. And if you want we have room to shoot trap as well. Just message in on this if you would be up for this!

I'd be game for either fishing, shooting, or both that day. Is there a pond there or what? Would be happy to do some catch and release bass fishing!

Yes sir. . .A good little 5 min drive on the property and over a few hills and there is a pond. So we can do both at the same time without any interference or fear of being shot at. While I haven't fished out of this pond yet, I know the other one near it at my uncles has bass, Crapi, and your typical sunfish. So yeah we can do both. Probably head out in the morning and leave around 1 or 2.
Also there is a creek crossing we could try(has challenged a few in the past), and maybe head over to another piece of land(with a small pond I have never fished) we have that I haven't driven back into in a while, but if you guys dont mind some pinstripes on that one its all fair game.

I'd be down for the morning and early afternoon of the 22nd (assuming parents dont have anything planned). I have to go back to school that day because summer class starts monday. Im pretty inexperienced with guns so id need someone to show me everything. Ive only shot 12 and 20 guage shotguns a handful of times. Would we meet in dsm and caravan down?

Yeah I wont have a problem showing you how either. Yes I assume we would meet around DSM somewhere, and from there we would drive south for about 45 minutes? Depending how many jump on board, we can always PM cell numbers, and can send out a group text or call before we head out to insure we didn't miss anyone or leave anyone behind.

Sounds good, guys! I would pretty much for sure be onboard with meeting up and doing some shooting and fishing that morning or early afternoon.

Sounds good to me. I'd like to stay away from pinstripes as much as possible though. Dad wouldnt be happy with me at all for that.

Not a problem, there are 2 different locations. One is completely free and just a field. The other area is a tighter section through timber, but that is just extra. The pond and range are easy waypoints.

Bring some loppers and we can trim the branches away. If I make and can remember I will throw a couple in my rig. After 11 works best for me.
