Good luck finding a shop that will actually rebuild it. The last time I looked around for a shop they all wanted to drop in a Jasper motor or a blank check to build a race motor.

Once it gets here, I'm going to do a compression test and see where I'm at. There are a ton of 350s for sale locally. I may just buy one.

Picked up a Midland 75-822 for a decent price.

Now I need... everything else for it.
And then I'll need to tune it.
Any shops in the DFW area that would have what I need?

for places you can walk in and pick it up try a truck stop, should be one on any of the major interstates headed out of town. Or Amazon 2 day shipping.

Amazon it is then. Do you happen to have a SWR to tune it with?

No, but there is probably someone up near you that has one, I met up with @MatthewMay1 and used his. Or you could get your own, they are reasonably cheap.

I have an SWR meter. Depending on where you are located, there's a truck stop in Garland that has a guy who can do it for you

And unrelated to that... I need to decide if I want to convert my Avid "sliders" that are really bolt on steps into real welded sliders, or sell them and buy something different.

I'd love some of the older BAMF style with the fill plates.

DCSB, with kick out, and Line-X'd.

    I see that.

Too expensive without being sure I could sell mine right away.

Hey locals; my dad is in town from CA right now. Instead of showing him the touristy stuff- he said he want to see some big lakes. Texoma is on the top of our list- can you guys recommend a good spot to check it out?

I dont know Texoma very well but there is a country club near Pottsboro that has a lounge called Tower Lounge that looks over the lake.
It has been 10 years since I was there and I was super drunk the entire weekend there but it was my bachelor party. I assume its still there.
Lake Lewisville and Ray Hubbard are both huge and much closer to the Metroplex. Go fish Texoma if you get up there. Call Striper Express and see if Chris has any openings for you and your dad. I would only get on a boat with Chris from there so pass if he does not have any openings.

Also something else to consider is checking out canoe or kayak rentals below the Possum Kingdom dam. There are a few places that rent them and will drop you off at highway 16 so you can paddle down the Brazos river. They pick you up down river and take you back.

Who's truck was this? One of my coworkers bought it and would like to ask some questions about it.
