    Im considering a new EDC pocket knife. These are the 3 I am considering. Can I get your input on these please?

    I can say the Gerber is a nice knive and stays sharp. I've had great luck with Gerber knives and have outlasted a couple of the more expensive knives that I have.

    I have one of those Chris and I love it... These are assembled here in Oregon not too far from me so I get pretty good deals. I highly recommend! Gerber Knives have gone down hill since they moved production to China.

    Gerber's are nice - I've had a couple. Don't know if you've ever tried them out or not, but check out eknifeworks.com. It's the website for Smoky Mountain Knife Works. I order my Dad and Father-in-law a knife every year for Christmas and they're great.

    I have 2 CRKT M-16's. It's probably the best design they offer. I would consider them middle of the road knives in terms of quality and price. Nice because they will do most EDC chores but if you trash them it's not like trashing a $150 Benchmade.

    IMO tanto's and partially serrated knives are not that functional. Buy the M-16-01.

    My 2 cents.

    Benchmade are really nice... but, a bit pricey! Well worth it IMO tho!

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    i was using a CRKT M-16 silver for 3 years until the gift exchange this year and got the S&W special tactical...also comes in all black if thats what ur looking for. i personally like it better than the m-16.

    The only ones Im considering are the 3 listed. I have a few other much higher priced knives, but I tend to not want to use them for the "Tough stuff". Thansk for the input so far guys. :)

    Don't know much about the specific Knifes, but I can't say anything but the best about Gerber. I've had about five of them, and still have them all. The steel is AWESOME, holds a excellent blade and it's very durable.

    Yeah. I have a couple of Gerbers. I just dont have a CRKT knife, and was wondering how the 2 compare.

    So far, what Im getting is the Tanto style blade isnt that great. is this correct so far?

    I have the second one and it's great for everyday use; however, in Scouting I was used to a single-locking lockblade, so the CRKT double-locking system took getting used to...

    My buddy has owned both of the CRKT knives, the tanto one was on sale at Big 5 for FIFTEEN BUCKS! Hell of a deal for a solid, surprisingly high tech knife.

    I like tanto point way better, they look cooler, and you can cut things much more precisely using the bend of the tanto (whatever you call it) and not the tip of the knife.

    I like serrated knives a lot, too, but the serrations have to be small, which the CRKT looks to be.

    Not as useful, and at least for me way harder to re-sharpen. I like the standard drop-point.
