I apologize if this was covered in the last 300 pages, but I'm looking for suggestions on a rack.

My wife and I don't really overland or trail ride, but have been contemplating an RTT. We race sail boats and regularly camp on or near the beach when we go to regattas and an RTT makes perfect sense.

Im leaning towards the stupid expensive Thule Xporter for the simple fact that it's adjustable and we can use it for either an RTT (which we'd need lower for less drag and to clear the mast that overhangs he cab when towing) or our tandem kayak that needs to be above the cab.

*Are there any other adjustable products out there that aren't stupid expensive?
*is the Xporter even strong enough? We're about 270lbs combined.
    * maybe it's cheaper to get a trakrac for the kayak and occasional ladder and a set of kbvooodo bars for the tent?
*is the drag and hit on fuel economy really that bad? For the 4 weekends a year that we use the RTT maybe I should go trakrac and just have a taller mast support welded in my trailer.....

I have the KBVoodoo Bedrack and I love it. Myself my wife and my dog were in it last week and did just fine! Combined about 400lbs, 100lbs Rottweiler lol.

Oh and he is making a smaller one so that is an option too!

Interesting... Last thing I got from him was so shitty. For one it had really sharp edges wasn't smoothed out around the cuts and it bent with my bicycle on it

Hopefully that stops quickly. We don't need another one of those threads - although the last one ended in me getting a free bottle opener which was quite spiffy.

    Did someone say sheets?
    http://tepuitents.com/collections/accessories/products/kukenam-autana-wedgewood-blue-tent-sheets

I've used "regular" sheets in the past and they are ok but the bottom sheet always got bunched up and pulled out. I've had a set of these Tepui sheets for a couple months now and it's nice to have custom fitted ones that actually are made for the RTT mattress. No more bunching up or sheets getting all tangled. Makes it feel like sleeping at home.
These should be back in stock in a couple weeks.

This place has a huge selection of LED options. https://www.oznium.com/ Right now, my LED lantern just gets the handle tucked in the top roof bar. I am hoping to get a 12 v. and 110 box wired up out to the RTT from my inverter too. The boy likes to watch a DVD sometimes if it is raining. Plus convenient for phone charging.

I have 2 sets of replacement straps I made up. They work on my Mombasa. I am sure they will work on comparable CVTs, Tepuis, Camping Labs, etc. They aren't any longer than the factory ones but they have snap buckles instead of the PITA D-rings. I am asking $35 a set shipped. 2 straps are "72 1/2 and one is "76. They are made out of a polyester strap so they can take a beating too.
