    Yes
I think they are awkward and not as nice for slicing which I find is 90% of most tasks. The spearpoint, on the other hand, is a nicer shape and more useful.

The knife would be used for everyday slicing of things. I have Kershaw knives, SOG, BUCK, etc.

i think the m-16 feels thin and cheap when you are holding it. the handle is hollow and the only support is bolts to hold it together while the rest is gapped open...

forgot to put that in my first post

I have a Doug Ritter Benchmade mini-griptillian. This knife is awesome, and is made from s30v steel

I've never found much function of the tanto blades. Partially serrated blades can be useful, but both are challenging to try to sharpen. I like the first one you posted.

as mine got older, the screw that holds the blade in place would keep unscrewing and allowing the blade to loosen

    Yes
These make EXCELLENT EDC knives. And they won't break the bank. Also probably the best locking mechanism on a knife.

What do you want to use the knife for? Thats where you start. Do you want stainless or high carbon? Seems like the way it looks is more important then the way it works. A knife is a tool not a toy. The right knife for the job, So again......What do you want to use it for?

I picked those, as they seems to fit nicly in my hand. Yeah....I think they look kinda cool. They will be used for misc. knife duties, such as opening mail, cutting wood, plastic, cloth, opening packages, etc. Also, peeling the occasional Apple, and Orange.

Gray wire, Some lights in the bed area, and some character marks throughout.
    Kershaw makes some good stuff.

As for the benchmade Griptillian, I had it issued to me and I like it pretty well. It has the Tanto blade which I could live without though. If you are looking for a good Multi-tool, I highly suggest S.O.G. Durable and they are gear driven pliers. Of all the knives I have, the Kershaw is my carry/ go to knife. I will see if I can find a pic, had it for 3 years.

Yes, I want to keep it under $30.00. I have Kershaws, and they are fantastic knives. I went with the second Knife I listed, as I have kinda been wanting to try a Tanto blade for a while, and it seems a few of my LEO friends have a knife like this, or that exact one, and are happy with it. So....I figured I would give it a shot. Thanks for all the help Folks! :)
