So apparently VSC was offered as a seperate add on to 2004 v6 dcab pissrunners only.

 

The two types look quite different. ADD axles have threads on their outer ends for a 35 mm nut to hold the axle in place. Manual CVs don't have that nut or threads. They have splines on the end that slide into the manual hub which holds the axle in place.

Lol I could do that. URD also makes a module to where you can go faster than 105 without the injectors cutting off.

 

Yeah I think I'm good with how fast it limps now. Wouldn't feel safe driving like a racecar driver in a vehicle known for lower ball joint blowouts.

 

True that. Easy enough to do.

 

I just wanna see how fast my truck will get up to speed once I have it installed.
Edit: didn't know anything about that lower ball joint blow out. But I remembered I actually changed it at my college class one day.

I'd like to know this too as my ac compressor crapped out a while ago as well, but I think it's just the clutch bearing. I was able to get another compressor for cheap. So I need to swap them. Not sure if I want to just do the bearing swap or the whole thing, which I heard is a lot easier than trying to replace just the bearing.

If I do just the bearing, I won't crack open the system. So will I have to replace all of the parts? Or will I be alright?

 

That's what I did too. I want to source a non abs truck to steal parts from to remove it fully and and get room in the engine bay too.

 

Any write ups on how to disable it?

My 01 4runner has VSC.

 

Saved these puppies from heading to the scrapper. mocked them up just to find out it would take way more effort than its worth to make them mount up.

 

Went and bought new tires yesterday, only for them to spend 3 hour to get them mounted and the truck aligned .

Also they happened to scratch all 4 wheels.

I also paid for a tire balance , and they could not get the tires balanced perfect.

So today I'm here again, for another hour and a half , truck still isn't on the rack, waiting for them to again attempt to balance the tires. Along with get a claim number from the manager for the scratched( gouged) wheels.

Trying to keep my cool, but man are they making it hard.

When i worked at a garage i changed MANY tires. On occasion we had trouble balancing bigger truck tires but ive never scratched a rim and if it was a concern wed tape around the edge of the rim with painters tape.

 

It's not a big truck tire. It's a 31" tire.

Crazy part is, the pre-inspection yellow copy had black pen dots on the wheels.

The pre-inspection copy is the copy under the one you'd write on. I can't remember what it's called.

Then the guy tried to tell me the rear axle alone wobbles , I literally lol'd him.one wheel has 50 oz of weight on it, and it's still not balanced . I'm willing to bet it's a bad tire.
