So I flipped my 2001 S-Runner. How do I get it street legal again? It's mostly panels, mirrors, doors, probably the front bumper, i.e. things that can be replaced. What concerns me the most is the roof frame over the windshield. I live in AZ so we're pretty open to what can go on the road. Please help me.IMG_3067.jpg IMG_3070.jpg

Dang man, that sucks. I'd kick it in the nuts and call it a day. Take the insurance check and start over?

If everything else is bueno drivetrain wise, just buy a cab from somewhere and swap it on. That roof is totally and utterly fucked though, no body shop will straighten that, it is no longer sound and wouldn't protect you again if the same thing happened. Might not be worth the effort of saving it though, lower insurance value being a PreRunner. May just be better to feel lucky and get another.

Thanks for the responses. Do you know where to look for another cab? I didn't actually hit anything. Just rolled her. Most of what matters should be fine.

I'd recommend checking craigslist for cheap non running 2WD five lug tacos because they are generally much cheaper to begin with and non running may mean you could buy the whole thing for around $750-$1100.

OK, Thanks for the advice. My crunched up truck is a V6 Turbo. Which other cabs/frames would my engine fit into? Anything 1st gen or would it have had to have also been a V6 and a turbo?

Turbo wasn't a factory option, someone did that. Any 1st Gen cab of the same type should fit. Wasn't an s-runner either, those weren't 4 door and weren't 6 lug.

I hate to tell you but you don't have an S-runner, you have a prerunner.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Cut the roof off and the top of the windshield and go speedster style

This is a good job for a hI lift jack and some 2 x 4s. Start jacking up that roof.

Depends what you need for legal

I myself would cut the Top part of the cab off and weld a good one on.

    Get the lights working

Then do the rest as you can

Do you guys think it's worth buying another cheapish truck to put my engine in, or just try to do what I can with what's left of my cab?

AZ is pretty relaxed about what's considered street legal, however I really need a cold weather hunting truck.

As we get older getting another truck seems the best option
