I think the transmission issue is computer related only. Toyota has to have an extremely sophisticated manufacturing process, I don't see how they could mess up something and be kicking out trucks with a quart low tranny fluid.
Somebody would notice that. Weird computer shifting glitch sound far more plausible.
    I think it's all electronic.

not to many, love it the way it is

That could be all it is,in the shift point computer programming . There were some tacos shipped out from the factory one quart low and the "harsh clunk when taking the tranny out of park tsb" covers that.

I'm sitting in the waiting room getting it done. They sure were surprised that I knew what a TSB was and that I had it in hand. They acted like they didn't want me to be here lol.

    First post.. Hello :)

My truck has been having this problem since day ONE. I've complained and complained yet every time they said thats how its supposed to drive. The problem? I have an '05 and they're saying it is not applicable to my vehicle. Second problem, even if I had an '09 they would charge me a 98-105 dollar diagnosis fee to "check" if thats the problem (I've been burned with this in the past which is horrible) I Have 74k miles which is still under the 80k TFE Warranty.

I called toyota headquarters (after all, they're 8 miles from my house) Very nice... but in the end I didnt get anywhere. She mentioned it's only for the '09 and '10 nothing is listed under my vin number and I would have to pay the diagnosis fee since the dealerships are all independently owned.

    Help from anyone?

Just had it completed on my 09 today. Much more like I would expect from a V6 truck. The other shift pattern would make more sense if it was underpowered, but that is not the case here. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, if you had the issue I had with my 09, it was annoying, but not a reason to worry that much. The only reason I had it done was that it was on the list with 2 other items that I wanted taken care of. If it is that bad, it sounds like you may have another issue.

Have you had your tranny fluid level checked since owning the truck? could have something to do with it

    Yes...

When i first got the truck I accidentally drained the transmission fluid like a few others.. probably half a quart or so came out. Took it in to get it checked and low and behold... it was STILL over filled from the factory.
I had the transmission seal replaced (probably with the same old part that had the problem) so they might have over filled again... who knows.

Not to mention the NGK spark plugs on one side and denso on the other... yea i know big deal small mistake... but if they can make that small of a mistake what else could have been skipped?

I feel like 5 year old put my car together.

The mix of NGK and Denso is standard actually. I've read several different explanations of why this is the case so who knows.

My truck is in the shop right now getting the trans TSB along with the leaf spring TSB. Looking forward to getting it back.

I have been reading this thread with great interest. My 2010 Tacoma suffers from the lagging transmission. What I am confused about is the Toyota TSB number that addresses the 2009 fix, and the TSB number for the 2010 fix. What I am reading here is that the TSB # for the 2009 is 0373-09, and the TSB # for the 2010 is 0393-09. I printed out the TSB for the 2009, but I can't find any link for the 2010. Has anybody found a referring link for the 20010? I would like this printout in hand before I visit my dealer. Thanks.
