Probably better to weld on the LCA skids and weld a tab to that.

Probably no material difference to weld on a backer plate and the tab to that though.

Some people also have good luck attaching the bottom of the strap to the bolt for the coil over.

I have DK LCAs waiting to be installed with my limit straps...

Curious as to why? I figured you'd be fully boxed and plated.

ok guys... I am about to pull my hair out searching for this clunking noise...
I know my ICONs need a rebuild but I don't "think" that's where the noise is coming from. I have replaced my UCA, LCA, hubs, inner and outer tie rods and now I have a weird clunking when I stop or pull into my driveway. I noticed yesterday for the first time that if I take a corner under speed there seems to be a weird feeling of something sliding or adjusting causing a clunk. just got an alignment and tires.. guys seemed to not have any problems. about ready to tear the whole front end off and start over..

Does it feel like its under your feet? If so, tighten the 4 body mounts and check the bed mounts also. Mine used to back off on my 08 and would make a clunk. Use a breaker bar and a deep well socket.

I will try this today.. I kind of looked at the body mounts and wondered but didn't feel like touching them so I guess in order to check them off my list of possible causes its time. oh and yes it does feel "under my feet" cross my fingers...

The symptoms sound the same, they back of a few threads and they clunk.

Like I said, use a breaker bar and a deep well. The bed bolts are a t55 or 56 star.

Thanks for the info, I have the star for the bed bolts lying around somewhere because one of them backed out on me in the past.

Its mostly my heimed uppers and uniballs that make noise. I finally found a good lube for the az heat as well. I think ill be getting ready to order some new uniballs since mine are nearing 60k

I have used the triflow in the past but now im using Bel Ray Moly lube on the UBs now. I haven't coated the heims cause the can doesnt have one of those straw tips and the spray isn't that tight to get in without coating everything. Im ok with the heims making noise, its no where as loud as the UBs.
