Igor's Wheelers/Alcan leaf springs (my old springs) were rated at +200 lbs. with +1.75-2" of lift. If you run empty bed most of the time, something like that, maybe with +3" might be better.

My uncle had his property logged recently, so I banged around the skidder roads for about an hour. Saw a bunch of deer, a porcupine, and even a bobcat which was cool. The original suspension on my truck is pretty worn out though- getting a slight "clunk" on the front right side. Hoping I get a gig soon so I can order my lift. I had the money set aside and then I had to put it all into my house when the plumbing backed up I had to gut the bathroom in the basement. :frusty:

Can I be in the cool kids club too!

And I checked my oil today and it was only slightly under half full. Is that normal for 4200 miles?

Took her top off for the first time (by myself) and took her out to pickup a tree and some mulch. It was really nice out so I snapped a pic.

Truck looks great, what camera did you use. Looks like the color is ultra rich, like HDR is on or something.

Took the bed off so I could patch a hole in it, it's in a very annoying spot, figured I'll also take the chance to clean up the frame and stuff. kinda digging the look of the totally exposed tires lol

In between writing papers for my college classes, I was able to take a few breaks and fix some things. My dad is 73 and not as functional as he used to be, so I was able yo fix a couple of things he had neglected.

    1. Tailgate is now operational. The latch is still broken, but I used 550lb test parachute cord, OD green of course, to form a temporary latch pull until I get a new one.

    2. Fixed the drivers side door handle that has been hanging freely for about two years now.

    3. Vacuumed the interior. Will need about four more rounds to get all the Florida sand out. Wiped down the interior as well....still needs a lot of elbow grease in there.

    4. Put a fuse box cover in, got it from a auto salvage for a buck, same color.

    5. Checked out the oil leak and am almost positive that it is just a loose valve cover. Easy fix for Saturday.

Still need to have the transmission checked out to see why it sticks and fights going into 4th gear. Hoping it is just s bushing as all other gears are smooth.

Overall, a productive day seeing as I only spent two hours tops on it. Progress is progress, so I will keep working at it. This baby is now my daily driver, so I am propping it to last another 220k.

I would say that is definitely not normal but I only have mine to go by. I typivally go 6-7,000 miles between oil changes and the level never drops...at all.

    Do you have a 3.4L or 2.7L?

Walked down every aisle of Harbor Freight today. The amount of self control needed to buy only five things rather than 20 things was excruciating.
