It'll do just fine. The 3rd gen Tacoma has 4.30's and the 2.7L. Might be a little bit of a pig off the line but it is a truck, not a hot rod.

 

Um...shouldn't you already have 4.10s?

 

The 2tr spins 33s fine, but off-road i go a little too fast.

After I put 265/70-17 it was like driving around with 500lbs in the bed. Ridiculous.

 

Nope 3.73s or 3.58s I can't remember which one it is. It's such a pig right now I'm hoping the 4.10s will wake her up a little

 

It will until you put the taller tire on it, then you will be back to where you started.

2nd gen 2.7s came with 4.10s, not certain why your truck would have the v6 gears...

 

My truck with 4.10s on 255 33s would be just about right

 

Well, I wanted the regular cab and they didn't offer the 4.0L. The perfect truck IMO would have been the regular cab with a 4.0L and 6spd manual.

All good though, now I have 360hp at my right foot!

 

He has a 1st gen. Not that it should make a difference.

I know, I know. I want to put a whipple S/C on it and run 8-10 pounds of boost. But it is my DD so I am not going to mess with it. I have the T4R for that.

 

My friend has a 1st gen, same motor, same transmission, same gears and jesus is it painfully slow.

 

Just needs headers, cam, catback, and a tune

Then you can put your 33s on it

 

The 2nd gen 2.7 on 4.10s is painfully slow....at least its torquey in first....but that is all its got going for it.

 

I told the wife the only thing I am doing to it is long tube headers, high flow cats and dual exhaust. Open it up a little, make it sound sexy.
