On my 2015 DCSB I had an ARE X-Series installed and when I ordered it from ARE had them include the tracks for a rack to avoid having to drill myself later down the road.

Why are these d@mn racks so expensive? Does anyone have recommendations for a basket type that installs directly on the tracks instead of having to buy the crossbars first? Or is that not recommended?

Not cheap (around $450 think), but if you Google "Prinsu Designs" you will fine a very nice one.

How do you like the X series? I've ordered one and am waiting on it to arrive.

Really happy, be sure to inspect the rear seal when you get it. In one of the corners of mine had a little fold and you would be amazed how much water that it let in.

I took it back and they replaced it and ever since then it has been perfect.

$450 isn't too bad... The crossbars I was looking at were going to run me $200-$250 then I had to put the basket on those.

    I appreciate the recommendation

Thank you OP, I had this same question. Anyone have first hand experience with the prinsu designs roof rack? Any options that would be more "basket" like?

I have seen @rileySB on here showing pics of his Prinsu.

Not sure about something more basket like that is a direct bolt on option.

The Prinsu Cabrac is like the opposite of a basket. Its just a flat planed surface with lots of slots to attach things to.
