but if my argument worth any weight, if I wanted a V6 4x4, do I have to bring a mechanic to jack the fucking truck up. Salesman was misleading, that's the only thing I'm going with

This is a major purchase, so go back and get what you paid for. A few hours sitting at the dealer going over paperwork is worth it and you'll be relieved once it's all said and done.

If you are cool with them and raise your concerns as early as possible, I'm sure they will do right by you. Something like that isn't super common, but it does happen. It's not on you to be held liable for their mistake. They would be the ones held liable.

Guess I read your original post wrong. You paid for the tech package? They charged you for it and you didn't get it?

The guy bought a truck with the tech package. He didn't get the tech package. OP will have no problem going back and taking delivery of the truck he actually bought.

That post is about as strong a case as the dumb "Stay back 200ft. Not responsible for broken windows" postings on dump trucks.

The longer you wait the less chance you have of getting the correct truck.
Go to the dealership and get the truck you purchased. If the dealer screws around tell them you expect a refund for the package you weren't given.

Either way you have to go back to the dealer. 1) To keep the Tacoma you have and get a refund of the difference of the tech package Tacoma
    2) Take delivery of the Tacoma you actually bought

Paperwork will have to be done in both instances.

They didn't provide a product that matches the sale. It's not like you drove away in a corolla by accident.

I think for non-car/non-truck/non-enthusiasts, it is entirely reasonable that you missed the tech package cues (moonroof and painted bumper).... Never forget your salesman and the dealer prep/inspection guys all missed it.

Take it back. Make 100% certain you do not pay an extra dime. And ask for something for your trouble and THEIR ERROR. Like free oil changes and a bed mat or something.

Make sure a high level manager knows and speak with him directly to confirm the situation and situation. This is not a small fuck up.

Be nice, and be understanding of their error, you don't have to be loud about it. You are 100% in the right to get the vehicle you paid for. Just be consistent and pleasantly insistent and it will work out in your favor.

Call them and get the right truck! Good luck!

Looks like it's their problem. Sit back and let them fix their mistake. You ought to make sure you end up with a long "Due Bill List" too, i.e extra free servicing, a few free details, maybe some all weather mats etc. let's fix it right !

Caveat emptor does not apply in this case because the dealer sold him a truck with the tech package, charged him for a truck with the tech package, and did not deliver to him a truck with the the tech package. That is fraud, but unfortunately in order to provide it he would need some sort of documentation indicating the truck he was purchasing was supposed to include the tech package, such as an invoice, sales order or financial document. Word of mouth won't cut it.

Back about 25 years ago an unscrupulous car salesman sold my sister-in-law a brand new Nissan Sentra which he claimed included air bags and anti-lock brakes. Unfortunately for my sister-in-law he was lying and she wasn't wise enough to notice until after she purchased the car. Since there was no proof of what the salesman told her, she had no recourse.

    Extended warrantee for your troubles.

Part of me wants to tell you to use this experience to gain confidence and become more assertive.

Don't be a prick, but don't back down. Salesmen are trained to talk circles around people. When they start doing that, just stare, don't say a word, just look at them like they have a second head.

You have all the cards. Relax.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
You can make or loose some of the most money in your life at a dealership.

Negotiate a better deal and save $2,000.00 in 2 hours of negotiating and you saved or kinda earned $1,000.00 per hour (+ income tax you would have had to pay to get that money).

OP, my pain is they either owe you that money or a different truck with that option ... you need to push them to supply what you paid for with your hard earned money.

Get your paperwork and go over it carefully and don't let the dealer confuse you and not give you what they promised.

Do NOT get anxious or scared ... they honestly owe you this for you post.

Good luck OP and make them do the right thing and remember .... a dealer can smell weakness when negotiating for money.

PS ... Take someone with you to witness conversations and I would record the conversations with my iPhone to keep them honest.

I record important things (big money items) that can be misconstrued later. Check laws, but I have never had a problem.

PS ... I could see where someone could easily miss the "tech package" in the rush and craziness of a delivery.

It will cost the dealer $300 to reverse the loan no biggie and you will get the correct truck. I know dealers have a bad reputation but the people who are spending $40,000 need to stop being so stupid!!

Do some research before you buy
Prices are on line and amounts people are paying are online (trucar)
inspect the vehicle before you sign for it trucks have a VIN for a reason!!
