    What say you?

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on getting a G19?

    Who carries?
    What do you carry?
    And why?

Just checking with the Az guys, or girls.

I have a G23 but when I bought a 9mm I went with a CZ P-01. Not hating on Glocks, I like the G23, but I wanted something different and glad I tried it, I absolutely love the CZ

My first pistol was a g19. Loved it, kinda regret trading it now but i needed something smaller. Now i have the g26 which is perfect for my needs, just not nearly as fun to shoot as the 19

Same here, except I still have mine. Lost track of the round count on it years ago but its been my go to shooter since the day I got it. Rarely clean it, never oil it and still not one misfire, FTE etc etc. Carried it in a couple classes, all my hunts, in the truck, in the back pack. By far the most reliable gun I own, I will never get rid of it.

    My EDC is a G43

Similar experience here. Thousands of rounds through it. Shot it in the rain, snow, sun, never a misfire. Carried it hunting and hiking, CCW, and used it as a range gun. Ran everything from light target rounds to +P+ hollow points and no problems. Super simple takedown and cleaning, and it runs the same whether it's clean, dirty, oiled or dry.

Really no issues with it ever and I don't ever plan on selling it. Just reliable reliable reliable.

Unsurprising that the SEALS would adopt it, considering the conditions they operate in.

For carry, Ruger LC9s Pro. Love it, small, good trigger, 7 in the mag, one in the pipe if that's your thing.

Seals carrying Glock 19? Sure why not? Cheap, they can carry a full size in combat gear.

I think the SEALS prefer something with better capacity...

Shoot it to see if you like it, the 19 is the only frame size glock that I like.
Most modern quality pistols will be as reliable as the glock.
    M&P's
    Sigs
    H&K
    FN herstal
    Etcetera.

Yea, I too hastily replied and thought he was talking every day carry for people. For combat...sure..full size 19, why not? They never jam right? :)

I'm pretty sure they carry "mission specific" firearms, both long and side arms.

Iwas not a fan of the m&p i shot. In one box of ammo i had 2 fte's. Ive never had a hiccup from any of my glocks.

Sure, but I don't think they'll be announcing the adoption of a 7-round handgun as their standard sidearm any time soon...

    :notsure:

OP: regardless of what the SEALS use, the G19 is a great choice for an all-around do-it-all handgun.

Full size glock 9mm would be a G17.

Glocks have always been a solid choice. I look at Glocks the way I look at Toyota's vehicles: gets the job done with very little fuss. Are they the best looking? no Do they have the newest technology? no Are they a collectors item? no I have put thousands of rounds through a G19 and have had one minor spring malfunction where the weapon was still operable. Its a workhorse and a reliable handgun.

Agree, and this is really apples to oranges, however LAPD S.W.A.T. officers are packing 1911s with barely more firepower.
