I'm building my truck for Overlanding so I need good lighting distance/angles and durability.

As far as these two light bars go the SR2 has better output at lower power draws.

    SR2 40" Combo:
    • Watts: 184.9
    • Amp Draw: 13.4
    • LED's: 46
    • Raw Lumens: 17250
    • Lux @ 10m: 4540
    • Beam Distance: 1348 m
    • Peak Beam Intensity: 454,000 cd
    Radiance 40":
    • Watts: 217.06
    • Amp Draw: 15.5
    • LED's: 21
    • Raw Lumens: 12348
    • Lux @ 10m: 3172
    • Beam Distance: 923 m
    • Peak Beam Intensity: 302820 cd
The question here is then, is the SR2 significantly better than the Radiance where it would be justified to spend an extra $600 or so dollars? I have no personal experience to know what these power outputs look like in the real world.

As for durability here are some of the features mentioned for the two bars. Rigid being the top known name I would imagine even their relatively cheaper light bars are still very high quality.

    SR2 40" Combo:
    • Patented Specter Optics
    • 50,000+ Hr LED Lifespan
    • Instant On / Off - No Warm Up
    • RoHS Compliant
    • Over / Under Voltage Protection
    • Extruded Aluminum Housing
    • Durable Polycarbonate Lens
    • Integrated Thermal Management
    • GORE® Pressure Equalizing Vent
    Radiance 40":
    • 9-15 V DC
    • High-Grade Aluminum Alloy Housing and Heatsink
    • Black Powder Coated Mounting Brackets
    • Dedicated Wire to run Back-Lighting without Primary LEDs
    • IP68 Compliant – Dust / Water Ingress
    • High Impact Polycarbonate Lens
    • Complete Multi-Switch Wiring Harness Available (sold separately)
    • GORE® Pressure Equalizing Vent
    • Attributes of a spot and flood beam pattern
    • Built with the same high-grade aluminum alloy housing as our legendary E-Series
I'm one to get the best of something the first time so I don't have to rebuy it in the future when it breaks. I will pay more for the SR2 if it's much better for the price.

What are your thoughts? Thanks guys

Check out Baja Designs. Bailey is a forum regular and offers TW discounts. I used to be a Rigid fan til I did a bunch of reading on Baja Design's website. I like the color temp of the light they use, and the fact that the warranty is not void if you disassemble your lights to change lenses. The lenses are user changeable to switch between spot, flood or any combination there of. If I recall, Rigid will void your warranty if you open their lights.

Check them out, I'm currently saving up for an OnX6 20" spot bar!

It's funny because some else PM'd me before this saying almost exactly the same thing. I really like the BD lights, especially the changeable lenses. I'll look for this Bailey you speak of. Thanks!
