I've heard this referred to as a smog pump. I've heard it on 2nd and 3rd gens, 4cyl and 6cyl alike. Nothing to worry about.

My 13 Sport does that too and I luv it. Makes it sound like my Q-36 Explosive TRD Modulator is powering down.

97, Locked, lifted , tuned motor (HyperTech, intake, exhaust, fuel system, electronics, coolent system and more all on a custom built motor). Looks like a brand new truck on the inside and everything works. That is the good, the bad?,,, "I could by a brand new Tacoma or 4Runner with how much is tied up in this rig." This is just another toy we wanted, you can load it up with an army of kids, camping equipment, snatch a trailer full of toys up to it and off to the trails. Life is good my friends.

Lubed my drive shaft. Only a couple pumps on each zerk before old & new grease was squirting out. I typically do at oil change, but that was 2 months ago and we still had snow on the ground. Took a couple of pics of undercarriage. Not too bad for never treating it and living in the North East.

Rubicon lift, locked 44, 30, chromoly axles, 4:56, Tom Woods drive shafts, HD custom built TC, Protofab, CRock, skids, HyperTech tuned motor, (much more on the motor), Global navigation, (lots of electronic gizmos). Ran Cliff Hanger with only one problem, it broke down on the trail, repaired and off again. What can I say, it's a Jeep.

Both are good tires. The S/T Maxx is a more aggressive AT tire.

Custom TRD Sport TX decal from Far North by Design. Good product overall. I used to make decals so I'm kinda critical about this stuff. But I wish he would have used clear application tape because it's kinda hard to see the design as you're lining it up on the truck with the tape he used. But in the end, it still looks great.

Haha my motor was all stock.. I was running front drive shafts in the rear.. and had a backup. I was gonna a upgrade to a 44 but the strength was not enough over the 8.25 to justify the price.. only thing I did to the tcase was installed a sye and intalled a rubicon tcase planetary for strength with a wider chain.

Did you take the hitch off or paint it on the truck. Mine is really bad but all my bolts are just as rusted.

It's the smog pump for recent model years, something like 2013 and newer. Not specific to a trim line, although may be exclusive to the 4.0 (I don't know whether the 2.7 also has this behavior). Totally normal.

I like those. Where'd you get them? They feel pretty strong on the bed? Like you could tighten something down pretty good?
My bolts weren't too bad, but I left it on. Just taped off what I didn't want to paint. Took me maybe all of 20 mins to get done.

Used the Taco to open my boating season today. Living in AZ it is warm enough that I should have been on the water several months ago, but a lack of extra time has delayed the start of the season.
