Anyone local (WA) on 255/85/16 or 80/17?

Looking at tires and considering this route. Was hoping to see it in person first.

Ah, it was Alan - I knew I had seen someone on one of our trips!

Any chance we could meet up this weekend, like half way between us or something? I'd like to talk a bit in depth. I'll cover food for your troubles since it's kind of a drive I understand there's some famous root beer place in Issaquah that is supposed to be amazing... the Triple XXX Root Beer Drive In? I don't know how busy it is, just sounded like a good way of making the trip worth it.

Absolutely. I am free all day Saturday. Are you interested in wheeling on Saturday at all? You could not only look at the 255's, but test them out too! I am open to location, was thinking Liberty would be cool. Posted an invite in the meet thread but it doesn't look like anyone else is on board.

 

Well I am kinda down one tire, so I'm strictly on-road for now. Also have a lot on my plate so I can spare part of a day but not all day - boxing stuff up to move to duplex this weekend.
I didn't want to be too forward, but yeah if you are offering, it would be super helpful for a 5 mile test drive.

Let's shoot for noon at the triple xxx Saturday? If you need to get your wheelin' on, Sunday is fine too.

Hey guys hope you can help me out. I have a 2016 DCLB TRD offroad arriving in a week. I purchased a 2016 OME 2 inch lift in the medium load. I want to get the 255/80/17 Cooper STT MAXX's with method NV 8.5 inch wheels. Prior to the lift can they fit? After the lift should I have any issues? The place I am taking to get the lift said to stick with my stock UCA's for some reason.

I will say in my experience with 255s, they can feel like riding on stilts due to the small width. Wheel spacers gave me a more planted feeling.

You need UCAs for anything beyond a 265/70/17 to maintain a proper alignment

 

Just went with 275/70/17 and 2 inch lift because there was so much unknown with the 255's fitting.

 

255s were easier to fit than the 285s, but I have a Relentless front bumper (as seen above)
Stock TRD OR rims, mudflap removal, cab mount chop, flare trimming, spidertrax spacers optional.
My old 285s were on 4" BS rims and worked pretty well. My current 285s are on stock rims with the spacers and I'm pretty sure they are going to do some rubbing at the upcoming TSF offroad meet.
