I've been looking for a good toolbox that would fit behind the passenger side, rear seat of my '06 double cab. After looking in auto parts stores and hardware stores I almost gave up, that is until I came across this at a military surplus store. It's a ammo box that fits perfectly! I highly recommend it. Check it out:

Here's the box sitting on the bed rail.

Looks like it was made for the Tacoma.

That's a great solution. Those of us that have the OEM JBL subwoofer in the back do not have that space available. :(

You can probably get one really cheap if you searched locally. Any local gun shop/store or military surplus store should have a few ammo cans laying around.

I'd personally paint the words "TOOL BOX" in bold yellow letters on the top of it if I was going to carry one in my truck. All it would take to interrupt your normal uneventful day is for just one excited cop to see the ammo can in your truck and overreact. :goingcrazy:

I got quite a bit in there. I had two tool kits that were each in their own boxes (one socket set and one screwdriver/pliers set). I discarded the old cases. I also have a small first aid kit in it and a small folding military entrenching/shovel tool plus some rags. There's still room for more.

Nice, that looks like a great fit! Least it keeps them secure and you can lock those cans if need be.
