I think there was and article in an old Car Craft or Hot Rod magazine where they plumbed 2 or 3 electric leaf blowers into an a cars intake. It made a difference if I recall but nothing crazy.

The theory is sound but I don't think there's any way an electric fan like this one can keep up with a 4.0 liter engine to such an extent as to actually add boost.
