So I set out to fix my fuel leak today.

Started by taking off the bumper (and a thanks to @Madjik_Man, I saw your recomendation in another thread for going through the license plate light holes) and my hitch since the hitch gets in the way of getting the bed off and it was trouble last time. Plus Toyota wouldn't do my spare tire carrier recall because it was in their way. I can get that done now. Overall, the rear bumper is very easy to get off.

Next the bed came off. Again. Twice in 6 months. im n Xpert @ it now. Dad stopped by and gave me a hand lifting it off. Then we started doing whatever we could. Cleaning the gasket, the metal, sanding it smooth, unbending a bent part. Nothing. Gas was still coming out from underneath the top of the fuel assembly. My buddy stopped by and the 3 of us paid a visit to Advance Auto. After a bit of comparison, we decided on Permatex MotoSeal. We applied that to both the top and bottom of the gasket. A while later, we test it out. So far, it's showing no signs of wetness!!! :D It seems I finally have my fuel leak problem solved.

I'll test it tomorrow, a bit more extensively. If it is showing leakage again, then we'll have to try again with more of it or try a different approach. If it still shows no signs of leakage, then I'll clear my fault code and run it through all the drive cycles to get the systems ready and see if that solved the issue. I'll be a bit lost if that somehow wasn't responsible for the code I've got. I'm really hoping (and imagining) it was. Please let me pass inspection now. :fingerscrossed:

You could do a pretty close if not better job if you prep well. Factory Toyota paint is pretty weak, not hard to outclass.

Gonna need some more plastic adhesive, I did get paint that has a little to much yellow in the code.

Replaced headlights and installed Rola rack. I wanted to mount the rack directly to the tracks on the camper using carriage bolts but my tracks were too wide to accomplish this. Mounted to the bars does make it easier to take on and off if I ever want to...still trying to come up with a way to lower it without it costing me too much.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Looks awesome with the new headlights. I've been thinking about doing the same. Which lights did you get and how do you like them so far?
