In an effort to not crap on agent475's thread any more than I already have, I started this thread so we can discuss dj stuff.

    In response to

I wanted to ask what were you running Torq on? XP, Vista, 7, Mac, etc? A friend of mine used it with no issues but I'm not sure what OS he was running and he might have had more RAM, etc. And the price on the those Pioneer mk1000's is retarded, I cant stand CD decks anyway. And yeah, needle skipping can be a bitch sometimes, especially with a bouncy stage/deejay booth floor but I just cant be without that vinyl feel!

I was running torq originally on xp, then bout a mac... had a gig of memory in the pc and a gig and half on the mac. if hes not having trouble with torq now, chances are he will at some point. seemed like if i played for over an hour the program would just freeze and crash.. hated it, serato is worth every penny. I love the vinyl feel too but after playing with some pioneer cdj's at a friends house i actually kinda like them.. thought id never say that tho. and all the features just blow everything else away!!

what genres you mix? I've never used any other digital vinyl system besides Serato and I doubt I ever will, totally worth the money.

    heres a few

    house:

    AC Slater
    Tommy Sunshine
    Jack Beats
    Barletta

    dubstep:

    Caspa
    Trolly Snatcha
    Borgore
    Bar 9
    Nero

    dnb:

    Ben Sage
    John B
    Future Prophecies
    A Sides

Lately I've been a bit out of the loop as far as new drum n bass - I stopped keeping up with it about a year or two ago when 95% of all dnb tunes at the time were complete shit. Seems lately I've been hearing some quality dnb tunes cranked out, modern dnb may be making a comeback. Dubstep, I like the harder stuff mostly but some of the more uplifting stuff is cool too, I usually try to keep a little variety in my dubstep sets cuz newbs will lose interest FAST when it comes to dubstep. As for house - well I love the jackin bassline stuff, bit of fidget, bmore, etc as well.

    How bout yourself?

for dnb im mainly rockin chase n status, nero, logistics, apex (mainly the lighter side of things, used to be into all the heavy evol intent, spor, ewun, mumblz etc but grew out of it)

dubstep i dont really have a fav artist, i hear a trak i like and buy it... dont really keep up with the artists besides rusko and caspa

ive really been out of the game since last july when i graduated and moved out of my place. Im living inbetween my gf's house and my parents house until I can find a job and know where Im going to be for a while. so my tables are just resting for now :D

cant wait to be able to set up another sound room when i get another place

    Haha I know right

Ive got a pretty basic setup

    Mac Ibook for Serato
    Serato SL1
    Numark TTX's
    Numark needles
    Numark Mixer
    Numark PHX headphones

and I didn't buy this in a kit. i pieced it togather but Im weird and like to stick to one brand. Im planning on selling everything but serato soon and going pioneer with the cdj-1000's and DJM-400 mixer.

but it will probably end up being a while.. cant find that equipment cheap
