Who did you use for financing? I regret going with TFS

I don't like the way Toyota Financial Services does business. Last month right at tax time, the same day I paid $1700 in taxes, it was the day after my truck payment was due. So I logged on and paid it, forgetting that I already scheduled a payment on the due date. So I ended up paying two payments at a bad time. I called them and told them what happened, and they said no problem, they'll take it off and mail me a check. Well it's been one month and no check. I called them last Monday and this girl was very rude and told me to give it another couple of days. Another week and it still isn't here. When I went online to make my payment for this month, I see the crooks took off the scheduled payment I made - the one on the due date, and kept the payment I made one day late, which means more interest for Toyota. If you look at how they have it set up, the earlier you pay, the less interest, and when you're a day or two late, they hit you pretty hard. So I'm ready to go refinance with a credit union, I just don't want to do so until I have that check from them, otherwise I doubt I will ever see it.

Second vehicle with tfs.....still hate it lol. I had my tundra financed with them and they were so bad about following through with taking payments I had to leave. I would try to make a payment weeks in advance and the website just wouldn't acknowledge it. I'd always have to call it in and even then would take sometime 2 weeks to process a payment, which was pretty inconvenient when you have other big bills to factor in. Even after trying to pay months off at a time it would be a hassle. After 9 months or so I refinanced at the CC and set up automatic payments and never looked back, at a much lower APR also

You should always arrange financing before walking into a dealer. That is a huge profit center for them when you finance through the dealer. And never allow anyone access to your checking account for automatic payments. You need to be the one in control.

I was pre-approved with several banks but decided on TFS initially for negotiation power it's best to finance with dealer. They make more money off of you when you finance with them but nothing says you can't take and refinance later with another bank for more favorable terms. So I took toyota crappy rates then refinanced 3 months later. Win/win.

The automatic payments I was referring to was the credit union not tfs. After refinancing with the credit union they became a one stop shop.

    Bummer.

Used TFS on two vehicles and loved it.

Refinanced out of TFS into a local credit union and it's not nearly as convenient, but saving money wins all.

Usaa. Got 2% financing. I doubt I'll ever use any other bank again. The process is just too easy with them.

Have had no issues with TFS and I'm close to sending in the final payment, hopefully that process goes smoothly

Yeah I'd go credit union. That's what I did for my first car.

I lease my truck so it's through Toyota. I haven't had any problems. I set up automatic payments and haven't had to worry since I bought the truck.

I financed thru my credit union. Dealer sent the title to TFS in error. It took the dealer and TFS five months to release the title to the credit union. They would probably still have it if I didn't file a complaint with Toyota Corporate.

I've financed all my cars through my credit union. They have a car buying program that gets incredible APR and the msrp is dropped below what the dealer offers. Always go in with financing approved to an amount so paperwork goes quick and painless

Toyota might be a great car company, but my experience with their management has been a joke. When I traded my camry for the taco, they never finished their end of the paperwork on the xamry, sold it a few weeks later, guy who bought it totaled it and another car, insurance attempted to come after me. No real issue since I had my end covered but ridiculous that they dropped the ball.

It's your responsibility as the seller to fill out and turn in the release of liability to release you from liability of the vehicle. That has nothing to do with the dealer

I did. However I'm still the last registered owner due to the fact that hamer toyota not only never turned in the purchasing paperwork but also took 3 months to turn in the new owners info. Like I said......I had the paperwork. Non issue. But that they didn't was the part that was annoying.

    But back to the topic......

After that last payment, be prepared for TFS to send you a bill for who knows how much.

0.0 APR with TFS on two TM vehicles...couldn't be better.

I get that it was a tight time but, you are asking them to help you correct an error that you created...right?
