Installed. One free in the wild. Nice construction. Good powercoat. Easy install. I complicated things with sound deadener on the back half while I had it pulled open, but the locking box was simple enough. Thanks @ESP Truck Accessories.

The access cab version is still in the design stages. Not 100% the same guns will fit in it the access version yet, but they do fit in the double cab version.

So...I finally installed mine (it finally stopped raining for a couple of days here in Virginia). The lockable under seat storage unit is built really well, the powder coat finish is great, but the type of weapons it will hold (Long Guns) are very limited, if you want the hatches to lock and not damage the gun. I have found that weapons with pistol grips (i.e. AR style firearms, HK machine guns, shotguns with a pistol grip that is attached to a standard stock) will not fit assembled. I generally carry a 10" LMT AR-15 rifle or an MP5k - PDW, I have to take the guns apart (upper and/or trigger pack, lower separated) to allow the doors to close all the way and/or lock them. This is not a criticism, just information, observations for any future adjustments or "redesign" you may do in the future. I am just glad to have a lockable place to carry firearms in my vehicle at this point.

Just an FYI (addition for installation directions), when drilling out the holes on the back row, be VERY careful when drilling the middle hole where the "Hump" is, TOYOTA has gone extremely cheap. I just barely went past the sheet metal that I was drilling. The drill hit the bottom sheet metal of the truck floor where the hump is and punched right through the metal to the outside. I used silicone and filled the area up inside and underneath and then applied duct tape to ensure I have sealed this area. In the past I have had MANY Toyota trucks and all of them had very thick metal in the floors...I am a little surprised at how easy the drill went through the metal and how thin it was...Live and learn I guess...newer model, more expensive and much cheaper quality truck...Good thing ESP has a great product...

I was searching the site for a lockable box for my '08 Tacoma access cab and came across this thread. I had been looking at a Tuffy Security box that may or may not fit under the rear seat.
What's the latest on the availability of the access cab version of your product?

I have been looking/thinking/procrastinating about some kind of under the seat lockable secure storage for handguns. I had considered the Tuffy Security lockable storage box that would just barely slide under the rear seat.
This unit looks like a suitable option. The price is a little steep, but appears to be well made like you stated. How well made are the locks?

I think the locks are pretty strong...the latches also go very deep into the body of the container, which seems to provide a fairly secure locking system. Its not a vault, but it sure will work to keep honest people honest and slow down any shit bag that tries to take your stuff.
