Also I felt behind the rear bearings and it wasn't open so I don't see how to remove them lol

The one I bought made a similar noise before it was rebuilt and was 100% fine afterwards. I don't see any scarring on the inner walls. I think you'll be fine.

Did your rotor packs move though? They move side to side and

I'm pretty sure the rear bearings hold that together i think mine did that also

Ok cool. The nose cone actually feels smooth but I'm still gonna do it... Where do the rear bearings come out of ? Hoping I don't have one of those sealed ones

Is there a way to see if mine will fall out the manifold like others ? Or if it's sealed ?

Looks fine to me, the rotors will contact each other and look loose outside of the housing. The rear needle bearings will secure the rotors and cause them to spin freely without touching.

The housing looks very normal to me and no major scarring or gouges in the rotors or rear of the SC housing. I had a SC that contacted the rear of the housing and it created very noticeable gouges and the ends of the rotors were all messed up. Yours look fine to me.

As above, it's normal for them to move side to side. It's vertical movement that could be a problem.

It sounds like they are moving freely and not catching on anything. The vertical movement (pulling the gears towards you) seems a bit much though. That movement might be what is causing your sounds as the rotors are turning super fast and slightly oscillating. Post a picture of the rotor plate where the rotors are pressed into. Also can you take a video of the rotors against the rotor plate and you pulling/pushing the gears? That will help me see the movement better.

BTW, for anyone wondering where the rear needle bearings go out of here is one spot that may or may not be sealed. That cylinder looking spot in the circled area is where the rotor sits in. If it isn't seal you can see the end of the rotor bearing. That way you can just press the bearing out the housing and it will come out of that area with some finagling.

The other needle bearing is able to be pressed out of the back of the housing (it is not sealed in, at least the 3 black SC's I've rebuilt) and will come out the 2nd or 3rd manifold hole once pushed though. Before pressing both out though be sure to feel or measure how far in they are pressed so you can duplicate that depth.

Yeah so it looks like it isn't contacting the rotor plate as there is no noticeable scarring but a video showing the movement would be a big help.

Thanks for the tag. I have had one apart, but I would be lying if I said I fully understood the inner workings enough to diagnose the issue. It would appear that some people in the know have chimed in.

Keep in mind when you install the nose cone it puts pressure on the gears and creates space between the rotors and plate. Looks okay to me as far as I can tell. I'd just replace the bearings in the housing, nose cone and change the coupler then put it back together. I then hooked up my impact to it and ran it at high speed to see if it makes and abnormal sounds. If nothing then slap it on. Also get me a pick of the back of that bearing like I circled about.
