Bad Fit Tonneau Cover

Recently purchased a Lund Genesis Roll Up cover for my 2010 Taco Dbl Cab Short Bed and when installing it I noticed a large gap on the end near the tailgate between the bed rail and the tailgate. It's over a 1/4" gap!! Needless to say the cover will be returned.... any suggestions for a new cover that doesn't have this gap or is it inevitable because of the way the bed flares? Thanks!

nice cover never got any water in my bed. always a tight fit.

 

ive heard great things about the tri-fold covers from extang. was gonna get one but i really need a cap instead for my material.

 

You get what you pay for.

I looked at the Lund models locally here, and they are a good price, but don't function all that well.

I wound up getting an Access Lorado from Luke at truckalterations.com for $340 shipped. The Lorado looks the best, but you lose the factory bed cleats. Mini cleats do work.

I recommend Access for quality and functionality.

 

I bought a Truxedo Lo Pro QT which fits perfect and has a rubber flap over the gate so nothing gets in. Took it to Octopus to get washed the other day and left it on, not sure if you are supposed to do this, but not a drop in the bed.

 

I have to agree. I got the trifecta and have to say I love this cover!

I read my original post and it sounds confusing... the gap I am talking about is between the side wall of the bed and the mounting rail for the cover. Not between the end of the cover and the tailgate. Does anyone else notice this where there bed "flares" out and creates this gap or do all of the covers you guys have mentioned have enough material to cover this small gap? Thanks for the replies and help for the noob I am!

The only gaps I have with my Access L/E is due to the bed cap being molded with raised diagonal stripes... in the valleys between stripes I have a little gap (that could be easily fixed with caulk, I've just never gotten around to it). Other than that I have zero gaps, especially after using the front and rear sealing kits that came from Agricover.

I bought a Jason Rage series, I`m happy! I have mainly bought ARE products , but the last sheel I bought I wasn`t very happy with so I tried someone new.

 

'Cause it's my right to do so. I read the thread to see if there was a new question that hadn't been asked- sometimes that does happen with a beat down topic. I posted because like many others on here, I believe the search function isn't used nearly enough on this forum.

 

Are you speaking of the rear, as the sides of the bed meet the tailgate (about a 12" length)? If so, on an Access cover, there is an adhesive at the end of the rails that fills the gap you speak of. At least on the Access Limited there is.
