    Hello All,

Just bought a 2010 4x4 TRD DC LB. Not very happy with it......poor quality. Several complaints

    1. I have a driveline vibration when taking off, once it shifts, the vibration disapates.

    2. Ipod, when plugged in volume very poor.

    3. you buy what you believe is the best truck on the market, however it comes with the cheapest quality tires ( Dunlop ).

    4. you buy the most expensive model but have to add the components to get the XM radio working.

    5. noise coming from heater fan motor on the low setting.

Totally disappointed in Toyota.....I believe some of the american made vehicles are catching up to Toyota. Not sure if I would buy another one.:(

I don't think they are catching toyota, I think toyota is waiting for them or something.
It's really disappointing, what will I do when my 01 is just too old? ... that new ford superduty is lookin good though!

I haven't taken it in yet for its first service, they will get the list when I bring it in.

I forgot to mention my biggest complaint..... there is only one color of grey interior and it is way too light. They should offer a charcoal color, the light color gets dirty too fast.

You know, some Lexus models have Dunlop tires. If you don't like them then sell them and get the BFG. Most everything you're mentioning is personal preference and not quality control or defects.

I could kind of give you sympathy until this gem.

It's a poor quality vehicle because of the color options?

Go buy a Colorado or a Ranger and see how much happier you are.

This stuff you're complaining about should've been obvious on the test drive. How did you miss it?

I was going to add a quote, but the more i read, i would have had most of the posts on the page quoted with X2 beneath it. I have a 2010 DC TRD OF and couldn't be happier with it!!!! The vibes and noise are not normal, I'd get those checked out. Keep in mind, you are purchasing a production line vehicle, there is bound to be an occasional lemon here and there!! (And if a slight vibe and noise can constitute a lemon for a Tacoma, you are dealing with a QUALITY vehicle!!)

Uh.. my 2009 is American made. Fremont, California.
My last two fords were made in Canada.
you can argue about the money going to japan.. but look at the big three and who their major investors/shareholders are... foreign..
And i too owned a ranger once.. you really do not want one of those.

After getting the TSB done for the shifting, I don't have any complaints with my 2010. My only regreat was not getting a 4x4, but I can live with that...

I don't have a 2010 but my next door neighbor got his 2010 a couple of weeks ago and he is in love with it. Not one complaint that I know of.

My 09 Rocks by the way. 20,000 miles on original Dunlops and NOT ONE ISSUE. My 01 Silverado, 03 Escalade and 05 Jeep Overland could not say
say the same thing. They ALL had issues despite the Eagles, Wranglers and Mickeys and/or the various shades of leather.

I hope you are able to get those issues resolved. :(

Except for the driveline vibration those are very minor issues. Blaming Toyota for the volume of your Ipod? Quit bitching or go buy a Ford.

First off NOT one complaint with my 09 Tacoma. as for the ipod volume issues. go to itunes and highlight the song that is too low volume. highlight the song and hit ctrl + i . go to options and raise volume from 0 to 100. still not loud enough? go to mp3gain and download it and follow instructions(too detailed to get into here). still not loud enough? get a boostaroo (basically doubles ipod volume) got mine at radioshack 30 bucks. its loud enough for me now, but quality is still lacking. you will never get cd quality from an i pod. i found this all out over months. now just use cds anyway, dont like to sacrifice quality. note: when boosting volume in itunes doing your whole library is a pain in the balls. you have to do the 0 to 100 thing for every song by clicking next. could be a way to do the whole library at once but i couldnt find it.

I also hae a slight driveline vibe usually at 2000RPM while accelerating.. Can feel it in the steering wheel and gas pedal.. Thought it was common with this truck?? anyways, I'm really happy with the truck (minus the vibes) and you really can't go wrong. The resale value on these trucks makes it a no brainer to me.. Does anyone else feel these vibes?

Ive had my 09 for a year now and I only have two complaints but nothing major to me. The first is that i can hear a little whinning sound when I run the heater about half way on he temp settings. The other is when I drive in 4wd hi my clutch gets to smelling a little after I go through the gears a couple of times. Its not driver error Ive owned manuals in all the vehicles that ive had, maybe its just a bad clutch but im not touching it until it puts me on my feet. Ive been from mississippi to harsh winters in north dakota to mild summers in colorado and now im back in the harsh winters of minnesota and this truck just keeps going so its the best investment ive made lately.

Its something else that you mention the heater fan noise on low settings. Is it the soft "ticking" sound or the CoC, "cricket on crack sound.

I have the soft ticking in my 07, annoying as hell!
